Hi Gordon. I purchased this robot vac for a few reasons, one being this YT video. You mentioned the laser mapping aspect, is this LIDAR mapping like many other robot vacs use, and I can’t get “Alexa” to use the room cleaning method you spoke about, can you clarify please?

Hello, 1. Does it need light to work at night? 2. Will it transition from tile to carpet mats, such as in the bathroom? 3. Will it detect when the dust bin is full? 4. Can “I” replace common parts like brushes? 5. Are replacement parts even available?

I was torn between the Deebot T8 AIVI or the Roborock S6 Maxv, And even though the Maxv had slightly better reviews the deciding factor was i am able to purchase the Auto-Empty bin with the Deebot which can makes cleaning much easier.

got the generation before without google or alexa also it does require to be connected to 2,4 wifi seems this one is a good improvement with the camera ,,,, customer service is great my unit failed and they sent me a new one with the included guarantee haven't had any more issues since them just love it hope this version can get 5ghz wifi as well since many new routers will set up by default

My last deebot avoided my entry and rear door mats because they are dark color and the vacuum thought they were a cliff. Can you confirm this one will vacuum black carpet?

Mine broke after 1 session. It stopped working after mapping. It would start for 5 seconds and then stop, claiming a drop sensor error. I have cleaned all the sensors, brushes, and checked the bumper. I also deleted the map, app, and reset the deebot multiple times. I have light color hardwood and grey carpet. Customer support was useless, they told me to go return it to the store, with no troubleshooting assistance. I am returning it for a roborock or roomba. What a waste of time this vacuum was.

With the Deebot, when i have created a perfect map of a floor i would like to keep and use that map forever. I establish the no-go zones and label all the rooms. Eveything is good so far. The problem is if i only want to clean half the floor and shut the doors to the bedroom the robot will screw up the map. When it is finished cleaning it overrides and saves the map and the bedroom is removed from the map. So if i want to clean the bedroom next time i cannot choose that room. The bedroom is lost. In short, how to deal with doors that will be closed some times without ruining the map? How to stop the robot from saving a new map which erases the perfect map?

@hendrik Stene I have the same problem, it's very annoying. My Deebot is in the kitchen and can only reach the living room via the hall way. If the door is closed to the hall way from the kitchen it removes it from the map and next time it does not know how to get to the living room.

Some of these smart units that map can store multiple maps which is convenient for multi level homes. Could the map with doors closed just be stored as an alternate floor map instead of overwriting the existing map?

@@johnwang9914 No, does not work. Our 2nd and 3rd floor are almost identical except for 1 additional room on floor 3 and i can't even make the Deebot create two different maps. It has a map for the 2nd floor but when I ask it to create a map for floor 3 it sees that the floorplan is the same and just uses that one and adds a room to it.

@@bvandijk Sigh, so the AI is too intelligent and yet not intelligent enough. The saving and deletion of maps should always be manual as well as telling the Robot whether or not it's creating a new map. I guess programmers just don't think far enough ahead. I'd say we should all complain to Ecovacs, if their website ever comes back up.

I enjoyed your T8 review. Not much different from my Deebot Ozmo 920! Looks exactly the same and has all the same functions! Because T8 comes with a camera to avoid those objects / obstacles I suppose that’s an important feature for those with kids. No kids or pets happy with my ozmo 920 so far these last 3 mos. I do miss the handle bar to lift him from the floor than the previous ozmo 950 had.

I am seriously confused between this one and the Roborock S5 max. If price is left aside, both seem to have some pros and cons over each other.

@@Serenaohyen Honestly, I still haven't I postponed buying this item a bit. So far I've chosen Roborock S6 MaxV but I will probably wait to see what they will come up with this summer. But yes, for this comment I would probably go with Roborock over the Deebot

So i have the ozmo 960 (deboot 960 from ecovacs it ist the best cleaner and heavy whight quality product. Vorwerk vr300 from Germany was good too. No other ist good too. Roborock was plastic Low price im but all innovatic was not Happy. The roborock Crash often to all my parts in room. Dog Shit and Crashes makes the roborock damage 😆 after Firmware Update the Same bulls***. So Ecovacs produced very high quality Innovation and German womens Like it🤣. Very Clean no other of my 3 Robot cleaner stops at cable, Dog Shit , shoes or other . So i Hope in Future Ecovacs produced heavy whight and quality products in Software and Hardware 😊 Greetings from Germany

This looks great.....but a better value is the Proscenic M7 Pro. All the same features as this T8 (except for the forward camera) for $400 (on Amazon) instead of $800. Plus for another $100 you can get the automatic dust bin/charger. Not knocking this T8 but from a value perspective...save your self $400. I bought 2 Proscenic M7 Pros, one for my main floor and one for my second....all for the cost of one of these Deebot T8s.

Worst robot that I have ever used and there is no international product support as a waranty. Even light after 3 months of light usage, you will have DToF laser malfunctioning error and there is no support for this. This is my regret to pay good amount of money while I had a lot of options i had this price range. I dont recommend at all.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Anti drop sensors keep this unit from doing its job. You will have to reset anti drop sensors 15 to 20 times in a week. You must be supervising this unit all the time, otherwise it will not do the job as anti drop sensors needs a lot of attention. There is no DISABLE OPTION feature in the app to disable the ANTI DROP sensors, and many people have been complaining about that issue since 2019. So far, NO UPDATES on the app. Another issue, the ECOVACS Deebot T8 AIVI Robot reset maps 2 to 4 times in a month, which is a headache. STAY WAY from ECOVACS products because it’s not worth it and buy a better well know brand on the market. I think this vacuum is like a test version to find out problems where people can complain.

Nice, I can talk to a cat. But a closed door makes it lose its mind. This machine is for folks that are easily distracted by shiny meaningless things. My search for a better vac continue, and Deebot should flat out be embarrassed!

i own this robot. The port to auto-evacute the dust inside the bin is too small. Therefore, be prepared to empty the dustbin yourself EVERY TIME. Other then that, it works good. FAIL FAIL FAIL🤮😡
