I have bought this model and so far I am really happy with both vacuuming and mopping. Firstly as the robot starts cleaning he moves in the way it's shown on the mobile app, I don't know why the robot moves in one direction as some people write. Mopping is ok, don't expect some extra cleaning as it's only cold water in the tank but it ok for floor maintenance. The battery holds for cleaning the whole apartment of 75 m2 but as he cleans one room I tend to close the door of that room so that he can't go back after all this model has no mapping system installed and he needs some help to shine:).
Great review thanks! I have a small concrete floor apartment so looking for a cheaper robot vac. One question I have which is probably silly, but if this U2 ends up vacuuming my shower with a decently wet floor will this damage the motor? I get that it has a mop function so water shouldn't be an issue, however was wondering if it was set to vacuum setting rather than the mop setting could this kill the vacuum with sucking up too much water? 🤔
I have a question please. I just bought one two days ago, it doesn’t vacuum in a neat rows pattern, instead it bounces around in different directions(Auto mode). The floor is half empty, not much furniture and the flooring is hard floor. Do you know why it’s not following the neat rows cleaning pattern when it’s on Auto mode? That’s the main reason I bought it for. Thank you very much in advance…
Hi there! Unfortunately, the U2 doesn't have precise mapping. It uses its bump sensors to navigate randomly around the house! If you want a robot that will always clean in precise lines you probably need to upgrade to the Ecovacs N8 Pro or even Ecovacs T9+. As you will have noticed, the U2 will keep randomly cleaning until it runs out of charge. Hope that was helpful!
Hey! Thx for the video. Been looking for one of this precise size. When you say it will keep going until battery wears off? Doesn't it return to the docking station if not told to do so?
I have this model and I find it so incredibly frustrating as no matter what I do, the vacuum will only vac the rooms diagonal on a square room and it misses sooo much floor space! Any ideas on how to fix this?
What size is the room? It is one of the challenges of a non-LiDAR/vSLAM robot. They're still useful in smaller homes but it can be challenging to sort things like this. You could try shifting the base location.
If robot charger is dialognally placed it clean that way , if you keep it parallel or according to your need it clean that path every time ... I have this model . Don't know how to connect to alexa
Me too. It’s the most frustrating appliance I’ve owned in my life. It just goes back and forward over the same line for ever and ever. I have to keep picking it up and moving it. The old Deebot 600 was absolutely brilliant with its random pattern. It would whizz here there and everywhere covering the whole floor of my house in an hour. The U2 only has hard floor mode which is completely useless. I’ve never known a more useless appliance. I hate it.
Easy to connect to the app? Ha! I've been trying for 2 days and have had phone calls and emails from their support, and still no go. I have the button and that's it. No other functions. It cleans well, but I have no other functions. Still trying, but it should never be this hard, A remote would work for everybody.
No, it doesn’t. That’s one of the reasons we recommend it for a small home. I think every passing week a robot that can’t do this is getting more outdated actually and spending a little extra for LiDAR/vSLAM with mapping will almost always be worth it :)
Any cleaner you want to put in it. Tile cleaner, timber floor cleaner, water and scent is you want it fresh smelling. I have one and I just add timber floor cleaner to the tank
I think it is only 2.4Ghz actually, but I’d have to check. Almost all modern routers can set a dedicated 2.4Ghz network though. It’s pretty easy to connect if you have that though.
@@RobomateTV my mobile does come up with 2.4 and 5, just had trouble connecting to my last 2 but was told it was faulty so I've sent it back, so just checking, thx
Just take off the mainbrush cover under the bottom and clean the main brush once its free. You can also take off each of the side brushes and remove any excess hair around them :)
I ordered deebot U2 pro on 19-Nov-2022 but this latest model 2022 of deebot U2 pro does not have many items which are shown in this video Missing items in latest model 2022 of deebot U2 pro are NO Additional dustbin for vaccume+No silicon cleaning +NO multifunction tool( cleaning brush)+No additional side brushes(Instead of 4 only 2 ) +No additional filters +NO additional disposable cloths+ OVER AND BOVE this model does not have mapping feature. It cleans well but u need to manually transfer from one room to another If it starts automatically cleaning then go here and there again and again cleans the room and so on . Do not buy and repent Viomi SE far far better than this with same price. which has mapping feature. difference is viomi SE is no additional dustbin + capacity of Dustbin+ water tank is (300+200ml) and only one Side brush. recommend you buy Viomi SE than this model. this review is based on my recent experience. Do not get fooled once the product is received and end up non-returnable
My U2 is absolutely useless. It just goes back and forward on the same line over and over again. Unlike my Deebot 600 which cleans in a random pattern and covers my entire house in an hour, the U2 only has “hard floor mode“ and it doesn’t even do that properly. It doesn’t move enough on each turn, so it just goes back exactly where it has been. I have to pick it up and move it over and over again to get it to clean different places. I might as well be pushing a manual vacuum cleaner around. I have never hated an appliance so much.
Sorry to hear that you're not loving it. That doesn't sound like it's working properly at all. Where is your charging dock placed? Your issues could be stemming from that. I would make sure the charging dock is placed in a space with 1m clear either side and in front of it, factory reset the robot and try again. If no change, i'd go back to the supplier...
That may happen sometimes with non-smart navigating robots... try to move the base location to a more central location if you find it happening all the time. Is your house quite small?
