Amazing video - so glad I have come across your page and content. I have suffered for over 20 years, with only the last 10 years to be around my eyes.. still a battle now and again. Changed by diet during lockdown by removing dairy which has definitely helped a lot. Keep you're content coming, you're doing great for those everyone but especially for those of colour :) 20 years ago there was nothing like this around, so it's incredible to see so much awareness about eczema as it can be difficult on peoples mental health. This is so interesting, one basic thing that I found tiggers my eczema is dairy. As soon as I eat cheesecake or ice cream, within 2 days I have flare up. Why is this ? Can you talk about some foods flare up eczema ?
Yes, food is the biggest contributor to flare ups apart from the environment and genetics. I have a mild form of eczema and I had to change my diet in order to not be affected by eczema. Some people tend to do an elimination diet in order to pin point which foods are best to be avoided. I personally choice to minimise intake of gluten, use plant based milk, have more fish (omega 3 is a big one for us Eczema people) cut down or avoid red meat (or any meat as it is acidic). Your diet should be more alkaline than acidic. Google which foods sit on more alkaline and acidic and that will be a guide to how you can increase the lower PH foods in your diet.

@@AnjaFugina I had very bad eczema on my hand and slightly on both my forearms 3 months ago. I used both Tacrolimus and Triamcinolon on my hands and forearms. the slight eczema on my forearms disappeared...but I had a very bad allergic reaction from the Tacrolimus ointment. It made the hair follicles of my forearms swollen with a tiny puss in the middle of it. It was painful! It was all too late when I noticed that they were not insect bites at all which I thought at first they were. I stopped using both ointments on my arms and I had to go back to my dermatologist and prescribed me some antibiotics for the swelling. I still have the dark marks on my arms but they're lighter now and she said that it will take a while for them to totally disappear. I'm scheduled to go back to the clinic in October.

My own right hand was infected with a bad skin rash for six months and that i conferred with several medical professionals to relieve my skin problem but with no success. @@maishamaliha1850 hi! I am suffering from a very bad eczema a few months ago. my hands were super dry and it was bleeding because I kept on scratching it. There was a point that I want to deep in boiling water just to ease the severe itching. That was the time that I went to the dermatologist. the doctor suggested for me to use the Cerave Moisturizing Cream to keep my hands moisturized and the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream. She also prescribed an ointment with steroid.
Thank you for the detailed information on Eczema, I wish I had come across such information sooner. My life would have been different. How can I treat Ichthyosis Vulgaris which also has developed quite gradually on my right leg? I've read up that people with eczema or Psoriasis could potentially develop it as well. How can that be managed as there is no cure for it?
I wish this was in Spanish so I could show my family In Mexico. As a child when I was living out there, our moms had the idea that kids are dirty and they scrubbed the hell out of our skin with a rock. That would lift the dead skin and dirt and they would apply Vaseline or baby oil after getting out of the bath/shower. The other thing they’d apply with be perfume or some sort of scented oil or moisturizer. I should first explain that they would also use a soap called Zote or a string scented bar soap if you were lucky. I’d feel like I was sunburned right out of every bath and I started to get eczema and was told it was due to my diet, that I was allergic to bread. They tried all sorts of creams that would burn my skin, smelled like alcohol, or some sort of essential oil. When I became an adult I wanted to find ways to help heal my arms and I was never able to find anything that helped so I gave up. I’m turning 30 this year and am so upset I only discovered your videos less than a month ago. Really great full for all your help.

Can you please make a video on HYPO-pigmentation after eczema or inflammation on dark skin, there is so much out there on Hyper-pigmentation but next to nothing on HYPO-pigmentation. I have severe eczema on my face, the rashes has improved, but I am left with Hypo-pigmentation on the majority of my face along with my eczema although not as severe (not as inflamed and flaky), which make me look extremely patchy all over my face specially since I am black. I have used severe different topical creams and pills prescribed by different doctors and dermatologist (last used september 2020), I dont know if the hypo-pigmentation is post-inflammatory or caused by the topical creams. And have just been prescribed UVB light treatment. Is this something that can improve or may worsen the hypo-pigmentation? how long can this hypo-pigmentation last and is there anything i can do to speed up the process of re-pigmentation or is this permanent? There is so much information and videos on eczema related hyper-pigmentation and treatments but almost nothing on HYPO-pigmentation on dark skin post eczema and inflammation. Please help, the doctors here up north rarely treats people of color and don´t have experience, and quite frankly does not seem to care about my loss of pigmentation how it came to be or what we can do about it.

my son is 4 yrs old and has suffered from excema since he was a baby . theres times where is excema flares up really bad but I use vaseline on his skin and avoid fragrance for him . the dermatologist said use dove soap and vaseline and it works
Thankyou so much Madam for this knowledge. Though I am suffering from eczema since last 9 years but I don't know how to manage the problem. I had so many sleepless nights because my skin was very itchy. Madam, does diet also plays any role in flaring up of eczema? I have noticed that after consuming sweets or tea, it flares up. My skin becomes more itchy.

I think I may have eczema. What I find interesting however, is the itchy eczema spots only occur on areas of my body that are covered by clothing. I stopped using laundry detergents and soap with fragrances and noticed significant improvement but still have very itchy spots appear. I however don't have any of the co-occurring issues (asthma, hay fever allergies) mentioned.

Yes I have eczema and my baby too and I really want to know more about it and make her skin normal which is a big task if ur leaving in Canada with the air conditioner and want to know more about what room temperature we should maintain and humidifier at home.
Hi Dr. V thanks for all the great videos.. I was diagnosed with Eczema at the age of 17 when I had severe exam stress which was then treated with a cream prescribed by the doctor. Then around the age of 26 I developed Psoriasis on my skull which is still an issue and (6 years later) few months ago I had a massive break out of Eczema from my neck down my chest and back due to stress again I suppose. But I also notice this gets bad during winter since I moved to Melbourne 5 yrs ago. Currently the severe inflammation is much less after I started a detox, took antihistamine for 7 days, apply sweet almond oil and CeraVe cream at least once a day but still my skin is itchy and have dark patches. My son has eczema around his eyes, the skin is so irritated, its wrinkly with big folds, red, extremely dry, gotten thick, and eyes look swollen, I have tried "protop" for around eye area, can't use steroids, Vaseline (which you said we shouldn't use) we literally try something new every week to try to get rid of eczema and eye dermatitis. Hi dr v I'm still awaiting dermatological care even after all these years and as usual at age 25 at 3am I'm sat up unbearably itching, scratching, extracting, cleansing,applying in agony at this so called prurigo nodularis but mine is a severe care with a lot of unsightly characteristics. I'm taking antistamines and applying a steroid ointment on top of my cleansing routine at moment but none of it is have any helpful effect. The itch, digging pain, fatigue and all the negatives of this disease are unbearbale. I am Indian if that helps. So I'm just wondering if you as a professional have any advice for me on how to heal this insidious disease fast whihc I've had since aroudnd age 11. I don't work, study or have anything going and this bad skin is a major factor in my suicidal,unproductive,failed state. I want to be healthy, comfortable, normal and move on with whatever remainder I have of my life in a transformed, better, healed, ideal way. I deserve clear,comfortable,clean skin, scalp and a happy life!

Eczema has left me with dark areas around my mouth and I tried the ordinary’s products from your layering video but one of them have triggered my eczema again.
