I recall dancing to Ed's songs with my current dance partner of now on 32 years. She still wears my ring...the bigger one I got her, after the ninth year. The tiny original's in the jewelry box. Ed Bruce is your grandfather? Wow! When I was like 12 yrs old this song would come on the radio at night. Like 1983/84 it was like a love song from God to me that shone through the dark of night as I lay in my bed. Every so often I look it up again- as tonight- this special memory between me and the One Who loved me from eternity.

I've been around the music business for over 30 years. I've had a #1 hit (lucky me), and I've heard so many great songs on Music Row that never got cut. But this is, in my humble opinion the greatest love song ever written AND sung. Ed's writing and that vibrato thing he did was and is a masterpiece. To anyone who wants to know how to write, study this! He is among the greatest songwriters, ever!

Memorized this song while in High school in the 1980’s. I never understand how you could reminisce about spending time with Bobby and his wife and not being able to recall her name. Now I’m in my mid 50’s and I totally understand.

Proof that all songs on the radio don't have to sound the same. And if your ears don't bleed it needs to be louder. Digital sound hasn't improved on what I had on my old push button radio in my old Ford Falcon.

+crosstimbers2 - I lost my husband to Pancreatic Cancer 3 weeks ago. This was "our song" back in 1984 when it was released....we'd only been married 6 months then. 32 1/2 years later I had "I Know" sang at my dear husband's funeral. Pretty ironic - the beginning and the end - songs by Ed Bruce. I'm 54 and loved him over half my life and he loved me exactly half of his. We were separated by death, but I believe our love will never die.It is a shame that people do spend half their lives in marriages/relationships where the flame of their love has been extinguished for many years. It doesn't have to be that way but it takes a lot of work and a lot of forgiveness and a lot of realizing one doesn't always have to be right :)

I am looking back after having been divorced 10 years and it has been an empty life. But it was empty before so I try to live for the present.
