Absolute gold. Coach O needs a podcast asap. I love the questions from Dan, and love Coach O's blue collar swagger. Ask the tough questions and he answers with no care haha
That was funny as f-ck. Have to say it. Ed is One of the last true American originals. His stories can’t be beat. Glad he and Joe shared that magical season. Watched almost every game. And I’m not an LSU fan. Just a fan of excellence.
@@dorishall3095 I am a USC Trojan. He is a man of passion and competition! Got his autograph on my USC football and miss his presence in Southern California. I think LSU fans are going to miss his presence in NOLA.
I loved Coach O at USC. I spoke with him several times at Pete Carroll's summer football camps. He was always friendly. His coaching style brings the best out of players. I hated Pat Haden for passing on Coach O then hiring Steve Sarkissian. I'd love if Lincoln Riley found a spot at USC for Ed.
A traveling football lifer who could fill 15 min of content as many times as you wanted him to tell stories. His voice, smile, and humor make him a great guest.
Coach O is so damn unique and awesome. I still can't fathom he went from coaching one of the all-time greatest teams to fired in 2 years. Hope he lands somewhere great.
I love Coach O and if you have ever been around the coaching life you will quickly learn you can not go out and hire exactly who you want every single time you need coordinators or assistant coaches. A lot of what goes on behind the scenes is delegated by the alumni and major financial contributors to the school. If you get a super great quarterback you can build a great team around him and win, the fan base loves you, if not the teams loses some games and almost everyone is ready to burn you at the stake or run you out of town as fast as they can. Today college football makes millions and is the lifeblood of a lot of schools. LSU’s football program generates $100 million a year for the school and LSU is not even the top money maker, Texas A&M is the leader in the SEC for endowments at $13.5 billion and LSU is ranked 14th at $546 million. With NIL, very few players will go to a school for the love of the school, like Coach O said, most players now are going to go to wherever they are paying them the most. College football has now become like the NFL Free Agency market with the exception the NCAA has not put any financial limits on the NIL deals so the sky is the limit on what a player can make.
Man i love coach O. I'd love to see him take over WASU or some other middling pac 12 team.. just to see what he does with all that personality. A la MIKE LEACH
I still can’t believe LSU let him go. He was perfect for LSU and their brand. I think it would’ve been to their advantage to hang on to him in that tumultuous last year and try to make it work. I’m sure he had more championships in him.
I wish Dan had ask Coach O about the story of USC not hiring him because of his voice. Lane Kiffin has a great interview with Dan Patrick on that topic.
@@corycraft3701 yes that sucks. Natty too sucks? He loved lsu. He couldn't do a better job. But that doesn't mean he loved this place and put lsu back in national relevance. We really do not know what exactly happened behind the scenes. Anyway he is out because he couldn't meet expectations. But we need to be classy by acknowledging all the good one did. Not the bad things.
@@thivankadesilva2707 He is out because of him! Blondes here, blondes there...running through campus with his shirt off! Not what is expected of a man leading a $110 million a year corporation!
LSU made a star out of a sort of a coach . Let’s see what the rest of his career holds. Maybe talk shows are in his future . Coaching not so sure at a top level. He caught lightning in a bottle ( coaches , players and schedule) . Maybe thats a fit Dan Patrick show. Was he a good guest on this show absolutely. Let’s see if he coaches again and what he accomplishes . That will tell it all .
i wish i could back my way into a championship then turn around a year later and threaten to rat out my school to the ncaa when the school tries to justly fire me for cause... oh yeah, then get a fifteen million dollar settlement to keep my mouth shut... if ed were in front of me right now id tell him 'i hope you never get another major coaching job ever again you piece of garbage'
I love Coach O - He isn't coaching because he covered up rape allegations and trying to silence victims of sexual assault is a disgrace - he doesn't belong in the coaching arena ever again Coach O should volunteer in a woman's crisis center and learn a little bit more about covering up sexual assault and pressuring women to retract statements - fucking outrage -
All false allegations. Innocent until proven guilty. Höes can't ride the cöck carousel for fun, then Later on, cry wolf and make false allegations of sëxual assault.
