its crazy... its so much issues with hits to the head in football now.. but when you watch Ed Reed/Ray Lewis play.. they hit hard and its almost always clean hits.. square between the waist and shoulder area.. pure technique
Ed Reed is the best safety I have ever had the pleasure of watching. A playmaker beyond anybody we have ever seen at the position! Actually just put out a video comparison between him and Troy Polamalu if anyone wants to check for it. Great Highlights Here!!
I remember watching that Redskins game when he stripped sack on Brunell and takes to the house. The int on Garcia for 106 yards that playoff game against the Colts that was one of the toughest loss ever for me as. Ravens fan we went 13-3 in 2006 I remember watching it all! Can't forget that int on the Eagles for I believe 108 yards in 2008! The strip sack on Clinton Portis on Sunday night football and takes it back to the house! Man too many great memories! I love my Ravens!!!

I'm saying I wouldn't get mad if somebody said Reed the best ever........I wouldn't argue........then I have to break it down like this.....Lott got 4 rings Reed got 1.....Lott a better tackler, he played corner 2 and he's more intimidating.........Reed has the edge in picks 64 to 63......they are tied with picks in the playoffs with 9........Reed more versatile.....but YOU CAN'T GO WRONG EITHER WAY.......
u can't compare rings. it's a team game. I think overall as a player ed Reed was the best safety great ball skills and range. not the best tackler. but if he wanted too he can hit someone. skill wise I'll take ed Reed imo. I know the same cliche is Lott is greater but I like Reed more imo.
