As a Steelers fan he is one of Hardest Hitting Safeties in NFL History Ed Reed will definitely will not be denied at all make no mistake about it just this sure he's one of a kind player there's no question about it
I remember Billick once recalling how on certain playes Reed suddenly rushed towards positions he had no business going to, with great results most of the time, only to explain later how, watching a ton of film on the QB he was facing, he realized how in this or that situation he would consistently thros here or there... tendencies even coaches failed to pick up on... heck, probably even the QBs themselves :)
Ed Reed was on of the absolute BadAss Safety in NFL's History he was a impactful player 1st Round 24th overall draft choice by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2002 NFL Draft Former University of Miami Hurricanes a National Champion in 2001 he'd won a Super Bowl Championship in 2012 now a Pro Football Hall Of Famer 2:48
Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Ronnie Lott, Sean Taylor are just Special. Best I've ever seen by far... and Brian Dawkins, Rod Woodson, Steve Atwater, John Lynch, Darren Woodson, Rodney Harrison.
@@NoFace-ke9pc My guy Kyle Hamilton bout to make a new trend of Great Safeties my boy will be among them if he has a healthy enough career! But yes to your point they don't make em like anymore!!!
Fr this isn’t someone who is “slept on”. There’s a reason when the greatest safety of all time conversation comes up Ed is always one of the first 3 names.
Another aspect this video doesn't mention is how much a film room warrior he was. He watched tape like very few others. Once when asked what sets him and Ray Lewis apart of the rest, maybe the first thing he mentioned was how much they both spent in the film room watching and disecting game film either alone or with theammates. By the time a game came, many times they knew the tendencies of the opponent's palyers almost better than those players themselves. They could literally foresee how a play would happen.
Ed Reed is one of the greatest players to play the safety position by learning from Ronnie Lott. He is one of the greatest defensive players to ever play for the Baltimore Ravens with Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs. He is a ball hawk who finished his career with 64 interceptions.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
So good that Philadelphia PD was like nah that's Marvin Harrison, we ain't gonna charge him for a murder even though they matched the bullet casings from the scene to a gun Marvin Harrison owned.
2:46 interesting insight from an interview ravens gm Eric Decosta did with Ryan Ripken recently. EDC claims they wanted to draft another guy, but he was picked before so the had to settle on reed.
Tbf nobody knew Reed would become who he was. Not all talent is obvious. Look at Patrick Mahomes. He was extremely raw and wasn't even the most NFL ready QB in his draft. Now, look at him vs. the other QBs drafted the same year. None come close.
Fun fact I just learned the other day. The Ravens really coveted the player took one spot ahead of Reed. Their draft room at the time was deflated over losing their guy to another team and so they decided to settle for Reed lol
He had the physical traits...but his football IQ was off the charts. He would go at Manning and Brady and have them confused. Bait them into throws they shouldnt make. Saw him a lot being in Massachusetts. That is what I remember
Day 1 of requesting, "How Good Was Arian Foster Actually?" As a udfa Foster has such an amazing story and is the greatest runningback in texans history I would love to see him get some respect.
When I was young everybody talked about Tom Brady… bro I start to love the NFL for Reed and Sean Taylor! When the defense can play hard…. Now is hard be a rude player
So damn good he had Manning befuddled on an interception, so damn good Tom Brady had to make sure he he want every play, he was so good. You mentioned his name around Bill Belichick he gonna start smiling., so good primetime said himself that he so good he could be a Hall of Fame corner. so damn good. he had your favorite idols scared to throw at him.
@@Madman33-nv8ht sean taylor fans are so annoying. His trajectory isnt close to reeds. He had to pass alot more before touching ed. Had alot of making up to do.
I always wonder if Ed would have been as good as he was if he wasnt paired with Ray. No disrespect intended at all but I also wonder if Ray would have been as great without the greatest S of all time behind him.
Just one example of what a masterclass he was in playing football as a 5D chess game: knowing that there will be a crucial game v. the Manning-led Colts down the line, he defended a certain type of play badly ON PURPOSE in the games preceding the big game, knowing how big a tape guy Manning was, leading him to believe this is how he defends that kind of play. And the game day came, and pronto, Manning made the play thinking Reed will make the same mistake - but he didn't. Interception.
@@jonathanolson6718 Not gonna track it down :) - but this is the play, "narrated" by Bill Belichick, what he calls the "greatest interception": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l7uXXHkYfpI.html
