Are we not gonna talk about how end of youth is being so underrated???? To me is one of the best songs Ed ever wrote! The deep lyrics. I mean the whole album is deep with the lyrics!!! This is the best Ed album ever! Curtains is one of my favourites.

fun fact: ed wrote curtains from the perspective of a friend of his that used to self-harm a lot, and he said it’s about that one person that brings you out of that dark place and essentially pulls the curtains and helps you integrate yourself back into society after isolation. it’s such a wonderful song and i’m so happy he wrote it; it means so much to me.

i genuinely am so grateful that people like you exist. people that *actually* listen to the album and understand ed’s intention with it instead of just looking for things to hate about it. you just gained a subscriber. i think this is the rawest and most vulnerable album i have heard from ed and it’s easily my favorite from him. i hope your channel keeps growing, you are a gem of a human 🩷

Incredible reaction as always, Adam. I feel like what hits the most in this album is, however cheesy it might sound, that we've essentially grown up alongside Ed and Ed's music. We've listened to him go from the kid singing about getting drunk, moving to the city, then falling in & out of love, getting married, having kids, and now dealing with this immense loss in his life. I know that makes me sound insanely parasocial, but hey that's just how I look at it lol.

New sub - great review, thank you. BTW - "Drop the needle on Dusty" is about Ed hanging out with his first daughter vibing to music = "Put the Dusty Springfield vinyl album on the turntable and 'drop the needle'' / hit play". The video made me love that song.

Loved the album I actually didn’t vibe with Colourblind I think the song and melody was great The lyrics I just couldn’t get behind “Deeper in dark blue, brighter than white” The second half of that line just doesn’t make any sense. Just saying it to get more colors in the song
