My grandma died today. She’s the most amazing person I know. She took care of me since i was a baby. To me she’s not just a grandma and mom she’s also my bestfriend. She’s knows everything, my childhood crushes, sentiments, victories and failures. She’s always there believing in me and keep on pushing me when no one else does. I’ll miss her so much. 👵🏻😭

when it says "i hope that i see the world as you did" i cry because i think of my grandma. She is still alive and I spend a lot of time with her but she has had many near death experiences and i cant imagine being without her and I really do hope I see the world as she does. She finds the good in everything and I dont understand how.

I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer two years and a half ago and went through the 6 longest and most painful months of my life. I saw mom going from the beautiful woman she was to a living skeleton. Went through PTD, Depression and drugs... I discovered this song by accident and broke down in tears. Been clean for a while now, I learned to live with the pain instead of running from it. There’s no drug that will make me forget her. Life will never be the same but I hope I’ll find a way to go on... Please people, love your mom as much as you can. You’ll never know when she’ll be gone.

Truth About The Song: during his concert he said the reason about this song... I was there... he said his grandmother was very ill during his break... he visited her house everyday... one day he went to visit, and she wasn't there anymore (meaning she died) I was crying so much whilst he was performing, this song truly so emotional.

This is beautiful. My best friend just lots her best friend Ollie. He was a ginger tabby cat and she grew up with him. He was the most sweet, loving, loyal, beautiful Cat in the world. She made him a video of all the photos she had taken of him. she could never go a day without seeing his fluffy face and she would always talk about how amazing he was and how much she loved him. the other morning she woke up to find that next to her he had passed away peacefully in his sleep. It was so hard for her to say goodbye to her best friend. She said to me that every time she listen to this song she would cry. she cried all day and while making the video for him. She was talking to me the other day and said "Every time I was upset or crying Ollie would always be there to comfort me and to hug. This time he wasn't." that just broke my heart and feel like I needed to share that with everyone. Please give your animals all the love you can as they could go unexpectedly. Ollie never showed any signs that he was sick so it was suspected that it was only old age. It breaks me to think that my best friend will never be able to see her loyal fluffy companion again. I lost my uncle 10 years ago today, he was my best friend. I lived in a different state than him and he promised me he'd hang on until I could say goodbye, but unfortunately he couldn't hang on long enough. I've had this song on repeat. Ed had me in tears, but your version just hit me so hard I could barely breathe and I'm not exactly sure why. You just sang with such emotion and I couldn't handle it (100% in a GOOD way). My grandpa passed away when I was 12. He was gone after 3 days in the icu. He didn’t even make it to 70. It was one of the most difficult things that’s ever happened to me. His only fear was that he would never wake up and see his grandkids ever again. He suffered from severe low blood pressure and failing organs. His heart could not pump on its own and he couldn’t breathe. He was the strongest man ever. For whoever is going through a situation like this, know that you’re not alone and that your loved one will always be in your heart.

My Grandmother died when I was 7 and we had the strongest relationship ever. She was like a mom to me (My mom is still alive but my grandma was like a mom for me) but she had blood cancer and died in a hospital. One day I was at the friends house from my mom (with my sister) and my mom came in and said "We have to talk where‘s your sister?“ so my sister came and she said that my grandma died. I was crying the whole drive home (It was the mother of my dad) But today (I‘m 12 now) I think it’s good that she dies ofc it still hurts but she lived in pain and no one deserves that. I love her and I know she’s always by my side. I want to huh y‘all you r so strong guys

this song makes me emotion, although my mum isn’t gone up, neither is my dad. i find it upsetting to know that one day when i’m older they may not be around, they have done so much for the past 13 years that i’ve been alive. i can’t imagine losing them one day.

Whenever I hear the part at the end where it goes “and I know when god took you back he said hallelujah your home” it feels like that’s the day my Dad died and that’s me telling myself he’s home and now he’s not sick and the lines before remind me of the journey we went through trying to have so much time before he was gone

My grandma passed in October, this is my family's go-to cry song and we all tear up if it comes in in the car then my mom will usually say something like "I sure miss grandma, I bet she's so proud of you all up in heaven" I still cant really think or talk or listen to this song without crying. My bestfriend lost her grandma to cancer too so sometimes when our friend group is talking about grandparents we both know we might tear up so we just look at each other and smile and learn on one another and I'm so grateful for her and my family. Its brought my family and my relatives and I so much closer together and I just know that up in heaven she's smiling down at me. In the end, the cancer spread to her brain so she was very confused and couldn't communicate or think very well but lone of the last times we visited her (she was in the hospice) her last words were : I want you to know I love you. We were all in tears because she passed a few days later and even though she didn't have to tell us that she loved us, it meant so much. Update ladies: that "bestfriend" is actually a bitch that screwed me over then instead of telling me she didnt want to be friends any more just got a new email every like two weeks then I would have to track her new one down then when I finally confronted her about it she told me it was clearly not gonna work because I was too much work so ya we dont like her any more ✌😗

I realize Ed Sheeran was writing/singing about his mom in this but it makes me think of my grandpa. I miss him so much. He was my best friend from day one. Yesterday marked 6 years since he passed away. It never gets any easier. I love you grandpa 💕 and miss you more everyday
