I love this version and keep on coming back to it, not only because it's a good vocal performance but also because the brass accompaniment flatters the original arrangement on the recording.
They're not improvising. If you know anything about music you can hear it has been tightly scored by Jools Holland. You my not like the arrangement, but that's another matter.
