Latest update: The doctor called me one hour ago to explain the delay and a few other things. Basically they have to bring in specialist equipment to perform the operation which will take place this Sunday 9th. Tomorrow evening I have to meet with the brain surgery who wants to explain the procedure face to face.
You must have been scared heading in the hospital door with potential very bad news. This takes its toll on you also, so look after yourself Nick also. All the best.
@@dantae666The delay they are saying is down to some specialist equipment they need. This hospital is one of the best for neurology. I am meeting the surgeon tomorrow who will explain the procedure.
@@notyourbarn He's visited Ed every single day since he picked him up from the airport that Saturday ... A 100km round trip totally at his own expense ( taxi to & from Sri Racha is about 1000B I'm guessing)... Do yourself a favour mate... Don't be a twat...
Man . I still can't believe our steady Eddy is in this position . It reminds us that none of us know whats to come . Sending Eddy strength to fight this battle 🙏
Stay positive Eddy. I had a 33mmx30mm brain tumour ( cancer)cut out in August they had to cut 3 parts of my brain. I’m recovering well. I’m hoping to come to Pattaya later this year. Thanks Nick for looking after Eddy. We love you Eddy
Bless you Nick, for taking care of steady Ed. Not many would, even relatives. You are top man for sure. Pull thru Ed,you are a tough old fella, you can make it.
This brings back much of the bad memories of what Kev in Thailand went through. Take care of your health boys. Money, women, friends, family, houses, cars may all come and go, but they mean nothing if you can't remain healthy in this world to enjoy all of them.
Words don't convey how proud the Thai vlogg viewers Worldwide are so proud to know a dam good guy like you, and Dan has been there for Ed❤ Fingers toes crossed for him
Nick your a top bloke for taking on this responsibility. Things looking bleak at the moment so let’s all keep Ed in our thoughts. Keep fighting Ed. Cheers Saxon Overland
@@weementaldavy5987 typically the doctors are freelance and schedul certain jobs for certain days or weeks of each month. Maybe the neurologist is only available that day next week ??
Following Ed's retirement adventure was bags of fun and have been looking at past adventures. It's genuinely shocking and sad to see this happen, and so quickly, too. And certainly thought-provoking for the rest of us: our lifestyles, health, how fragile our lives are, living life to the full, proper insurance. Hoping for the best for Ed ....
We're all on borrowed time. I’m not sure if a brain infection is due to an unhealthy lifestyle, but, you're right; we all need to look at our diet, stress levels and live a healthy lifestyle as well as frequent health checks at the doctors.
@@davidcoleman2796you are totally wrong there.eddie has not been slurring his words for the last 2 years, this has only happened since he got ill.i watched all his videos since he arrived in Thailand and he has been fine.god I hope this operation on Saturday will help him.
@@Tesstickles101 . . . It’s heartbreaking to see his videos a month old , smiling and ordering another San Miguel Live for every single day folks . . . . Please God Ed will be OK and on the mend 🙏🏼
Many thanks Nick for these updates on our Eddy. This has all happened so quickly, it really is awful. We pray for Ed's recovery. I'm sure its a great comfort for him having you lads there. Bill
What a great guy Eddy is and to have this happen to him, on his retirement journey and dream to live in Thailand. May the Gods be shining on you Eddy. Thanks ever so much Nick on the urgent update and the continuous support towards Eddy at this horrendous time of need.
Hi nick and eddy.i had a friend had the sane thing a few years ago..he had the op and recovered fully..I hope all is ok if you get it..steady eddy will be back..God bless you nick ❤
Thanks for the update Nick and like all here we are praying for Eddy let the Heavens shines down upon him for a successful operation and a slow recovery we are all routing for Eddy🙂
Well done Nick stepping in and also given us updates I’m sure it’s not easy for anyone at the moment especially for you backwards and forwards but I’m sure Ed is all the better for seeing you a friendly face. I do wish him a speedy recovery not easy being alone in a foreign hospital I know that from firsthand, with no friends or family around you
Stay steady Eddy, you're in the best place. They'll soon have you sorted out and on the road to recovery. You'll be back down soi 6 by the end of the year. Thanks to Nick for all you're doing to help.
Indeed it is. I've been a Steady Eddy fan for years and years. Ed is such a good dude, he doesn't deserve this! But I have great faith that he'll be back to his old self. Just give him some time. 🙏
Hi Nick I’m eddies friend Chris’s daughter, thank you for all you’ve done for Eddie. Tell him we all send all our love and well wishes from Torquay. We really hope he gets better soon! Xx
Hi Kirsty can you please tell Chris to get in touch with me. I spoke to him on Ed's phone a couple weeks ago but I don't have his details. nickdean991@googlemail.com Thank you. 🙏
It’s the feeling of powerlessness that makes this situation so much more difficult. I’d imagine your visits and advocacy on Eddy’s behalf are immensely appreciated.☮️
You'll get through this Ed. You'll be back in no time. Whatt a good friend you are NDTV. I'm really impressed how great and supportive the RU-vid bloggers in Thailand are
Nick, you're amazing for what you are doing for Ed. Pray this week works out and he can survive this. Been following Eds videos now for over 5 years. So devastating for this to happen to such a lovely chap.
Ffs, this is making me teary. When you follow a bloke on RU-vid, then watch as he suddenly has a different purpose. This is awful. I think he'll be ok, but fvk me, can they get on with it, cos he cld die or be permanently brain damaged for delaying what seems to be a simple procedure. It's frustrating. We don't want this going unnecessarily bad. Good on you Nick, fckin awesome that you're keeping tabs on Eddie 👍🏻🙏🏻
Nick, I respect you greatly as a person of substance. You go over and beyond for many people who have touched your life. Well done mate. I met you in one of your bars in Soi 7 and you had the decency to chat to me, even though I was a complete stranger. Givers, like you, will leave a huge legacy in a world, which is crying for compassion and care.
This shows you just how important health insurance is. Without it, possibly Eddy wouldn't still be with us. He may have had to try to get himself back to the UK and in his condition might not have made it. Hang in there, Eddy, we're all behind you and willing you to come through this testing time. We know you're made of stern stuff and are a fighter. God bless.
Hi Nick. You’re a top bloke for helping him out. I don’t know if there is anything you can do but he needs the surgery a lot sooner than Sunday. I am no doctor but I did have an abscess that was resistant to antibiotics and had emergency surgery within the day. If I left it any longer it would have grown and I would have eventually got sepsis which can kill you pretty rapidly, and i’m only in my thirties. I know you can only do what you can over there though, good luck!
Thank god that you are willing & able to help out. I can't imagine w/o you how Ed can go thru. I wish all the best to Ed and come out stronger & healthier.
Nick thank for the update and definitely he has our thoughts and prayers. I’ve had the opportunity to meet you twice and your definitely a great lad and this continues to show your a class act as well. Thoughts from Canada 🇨🇦
I had emergency surgery in bangkok pattaya hospital-a scary thing.I wish I had someone like Nick to support me back then. Can't speak highly enough of thai hospital care-stuff the money; your health is paramount.
It’s Terrible to see this unfold with his deterioration. They need to have done that operation days ago really. Hope and pray ed pulls through this. And nick your an absolute star mate top man.
Thank you Nick for the update. It's incredible how life can change so quickly, I hope Ed makes a full and speedy recovery. Lesson to us all really, live life to the full because you never know what's around the corner.
This is amazing Nick, I've been quietly following all you guys since the Kev in Thailand days. Very impressed with the sense of community and keeping us updated.
Heart breaker…Ed’s blessed to have you. I never know what’s in store for me in the future…BUT…January 2022, at 60 y/o, I was disgusted with my health. I was obese, on 7 medications and had a terrible diet. I changed to a KETO diet and started walking 3 miles every other day. Three days later I no longer needed an antacid prescription I had been on for 20 years. Three weeks later, I went to eating one meal a day over 4 hours and fasted 20 hours. No more sugar, bread, pasta, rice, beans, corn, seed oils, alcohol, etc. Only vegetables and meat, salmon, sardines and eggs. I was now walking 8 miles every other day. June 2022. I had the best blood test results ever. October 2022, I had lost 60 lbs and was off all 7 medications. Two years and 5 months later I’m still eating and exercising the same way.
great discipline. To be honest I almost did the opposite. I walked for more than 1 hour every day for years. Not any more, seems I lost interest. Instead I drink heavy beers. Glad I am not in Thailand/Pattaya on walking street. I probably get into trouble every night :) Had some good times in Thailand but it has been a long time. I was still pretty young when I went there, late 30s, 3 years in a row I went there, early 2000s. Hope Eddy survives
@@dutchy5752 Thanks for the transparency. When I went to my doctor in October 2022 and he agreed with me getting off remaining medications, he said, “Congratulations!!! You have a 5% chance for success.” I said, “Thanks for the encouragement doc? You’re fired.” I hind sight, he was highly educated drug dealer. I’ve been disciplined for 2 years 5 months and I stray at times for a day or two but I forgive myself and I’m back on track. The biggest things that have helped the most is, 1. Only allow approved foods in the house. If I have cravings in the evening, I have to get in the car and drive to the store. 2. I continuously watch educational videos to reinforce what I am doing AND learn new things. I’m in the US right now but have been to Thailand 30 times since 2005. My trips were focused on working with refugee children from Burma and doing projects at orphanages. It wasn’t until 2018 that I actually went to Phukett to experience the beach and then 2019 to visit Khao Lak.
@@WilliamFluery i smoked cigarettes since I was a boy. Not too much though. Around 2007 I started smoking quite heavy. Then at some point I had a really bad pain in my throat in 2016 and I stopped the next day. Never smoked since then. Often we need a wakeup call I guess. With alcohol however that 1 extra drink could push you over the edge. But I eat very healthy. Lots of fruit and vegetables and I also drink lots of water, tea With respect to Eddy. It could be vaccine related. There are a lot of stories about turbo cancers. Apparently he has some thing in his brains that is growing rapidly. We will have to wait and see what it is.
I admire your discipline my friend. I've just fallen off the wagon after 5 days on Keto....I just cant stick to it. I know if I get over those first 2-3 weeks it will be easier and I'll start to see all the benefits you did, but something in my mind sabatages me. I probably know everything there is to know about keto/low carb living but just cant stick to it. Little things like having to take electrolytes every day to stay hydrated/avoid cramps etc puts me off making it a lifetsyle change even though the benefits are huge- its weird!
@@Jackpot12 I was living with my Alzheimer’s ridden mother when I started so I was able to only allow approved foods in the house. Cleaning the pantry and fridge of ALL TEMPTATIONS was like an alcoholic cleaning the liquor out of the house. All my life, my cravings were at night so I knew I had a widow of craving risks until the grocery store closed at 11:00pm. When you start, eat when you are hungry but eat approved food. Every morning I cook and peel 6 boiled eggs. When I get hungry, I eat 2 eggs with salt. That usually happens between 3-4p. Then I eat 1 pound of protein - grass-fed ground beef or wild caught salmon…in addition to that, I will eat canned sardines, herring, and/or remaining eggs. I also eat a BIG A$$, raw, multi-vegetable salad (baby green lettuce mix, mushrooms, bell pepper, raw onion, shaved brussel sprouts, broccoli tops (I don’t eat the stems) and either blueberries, blackberries or raspberries. I uses spices pink himilayan sea salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper powder and cumin. My dressing is extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I also eat 1/2 cup of fermented sauerkraut and 1/2 cup of kimchi. I eat all that within 3 hours. That fills me up…BUT…if I have a craving, I have pecans, cheese or I eat another egg. Those are my approved foods. I never have food waste. This has been what I eat for 2 years and 5 months. My mother is now in memory care. I moved back home Nov 2023. My wife had unapproved food in the house and at first it was hard for me. I still ate my approved foods but the temptations were too strong at times. She realized how much my health had improved so I showed her how and what to eat. All the unapproved food is gone and I’m back on the wagon.
Thanks for the update Nick.. we are all on tender hooks hoping for something positive... least a decision has been made and a plan in place.. poor bugger. But he's a tough rooster.. thanks again
Hope steady Eddie s operation goes well on Sunday and is friends and close relatives are supporting And visiting myself and all my mates in Wakefield are preying for big improvement s after the surgery 🤔fingers crossed
Thanks nick for all you’re doing and big respect for informing us about Ed’s condition. Just hope he can pull through this and back to his usual chirpy self.
