I know there are people wanting a part 2, but unfortunately the last time I tried uploading a TOH compilation (this one was of Hunter) I got a copyright block. So sorry.
I still question how Eda didn't understand what hugs were. Given how we later find out that her parents are actually FRIENDLY, I doubt she was never given any affection
Right? People think the Boiling Isles as a whole don't know what hugs are. But we've seen characters other than Luz initiate hugs, which means Eda was definitely not given a lot of physical affection as a child. Edit: this is late, but as of season 2 episodes 4 and 8, I am wrong. 😅
I really don't think so, in the episode with her mother she seems to really care about them, even if they are **VERY** flawed, different people just show affection differently
"...And THAT, Amity, is why I had an owl beak for a mouth for a week." "Are you sure it's okay to live with her, Luz?" "She just has... difficulty showing affection. We stole some night market ice cream afterward!"
There is a consensus in this fandom about certain things: Amity is a gay disaster, Gus and King are adorably awkward, And Eda Clawthorne, for all her rough edges, is a Good Mom.
@@Clooover OK, everyone has a different opinion and I respected that. What makes you dislike Willow, she's nice and is a great friend even though she was bullied for years.
in the latest episode when Alador refers to Luz as "Edalyn's kid' I found that so adorable since it shows how everyone sees how much of a parental figure Eda has become for Luz
I just like to imagine that everyone just assumed she found and adopted Luz. It’s not like Bump ever questions Eda’s guardianship rights when Luz gets enrolled or anything like that. Kid hangs around Eda. Eda acts motherly to said kid. That’s Eda’s kid. Simple and realistic logic.
I find it really interesting how their physical affection matures throughout the season. At first, Eda seemed very hesitant to give Luz anything other than head pats... which are adorable nonetheless. Although she obviously knows how to hug to some extent (since she does it with King occasionally), she never fully returned the ones initiated by Luz. Until season one's final episode, that is. When they finally embraced for the first time, it was the best thing ever. It was like she fully accepted her role as Luz's second mother and was admitting how much she cared for her.
Omg i just thought of an animation with luz talking to her mom with the dear evan hansen "good for you" audio. Ms/mrs. Noceda saying they aren't her family, they dont know you and luz saying "and you do?" I FEEL LIKE THAT WOULD BE SO COOL. I might draw that actually👀
Actually, someone made a theory that she IS Hunter's mother. And there's a lot of details pointing to that direction: 1-The golden guard mask looking like an owl 2-The way they both said "BYE" 3-Like you said, Luz and Hunter obvious sibling relashiopship (Plus, someone point out how Luz's way to play with Hunter's staff by spining it her hand only to almost lost it is a parallele to the first Lilith and Eda fight were the same happen to the latter) 4-Hunter's new palisman being a BIRD. Something Dana said it was a CLAWTHORNE thing. 5-Eda is around 45 while Hunter is 16 so totaly possible in the timeline. 6-Eda being curse, a criminal, alone and not feeling motherly enough, all the reasons are there for her to give him up to adoption. I will even go further and say that maybe, she regrets it and that's why she decide to take care of King years later (A mother that lost her kid with a kid that lost his parents... How poetic is that? 🥰) 6-And finaly, if the "Powerless witch ancestors ends up being a lie (Because we still have to figure out who Hunter's father is and if he really is Belos brother if this theory is true), Hunter being powerless could actually be an other side effect of Eda's curse. So yeah, I strongly belive it. Now, we just have to wait for next episode, Eda's requiem, to see if it still holds up, confirm or denie since it's confirm we will get more of Eda's backstory.
@@Clooover Less so there, considering that Eda's natural hair colour is red and would likely pass down those genes rather than her curse-altered white-grey hair
@@stephenfong1144 She would have had Hunter when she had already been cursed, and the curse *does* alter her DNA. The genes that she passes down could very well have given Hunter the gray-white hair instead of her natural orange color.
honestly most shows have boys and their father figures. but rarely you see mother figures like eda, even if they do have thme theyre gentle quiet people. I love eda and her mother aunt thing.
Eda is crazy but also incredibly cute, warm and protective, I love her character, she treats Luz like her daughter without thinking about it at all. She definitely is a Luz second mom, we can all agree here. Watching them together is something what melts my heart 💞 in a good way
0:54 Guess that Eda never thought she would one day have an apprentice, so to hear Luz calling her a teacher(and a great one at that!) must've really boosted her self-confidence.
Aww ❤ I also love Eda's progression from 'This kid could be useful to me.' To 'That's my Apprentice!' To calling Luz her kid, and in several episodes other people call Luz 'Eda's kid' and in S2 we hear Eda talking to Lilith without the front she puts up for Luz, about how they're struggling to put food on the table that Luz can actually digest. It's really sweet ❤
I think it's cool that at first she only considered Luz and King as an apprentice and a pet / little friend, and now she considers both of them as her children.
Eda was so gentle about the emperors mind debacle. She Luz space and was about to help hunter the same way. 😭 Poor hunter his world crashed down in that moment.
I once joked to my niece that Eda is Beatrice's new life to make up for making Bojack's childhood horrible, lol. It's a horrible joke, but I was like "wait, why does that voice sound familiar" when I first started watching TOH, and I've seen enough BH clips on RU-vid to get the bare gist of Beatrice's personality.
I just noticed that in the episode where they're training on the snowy mountain, Eda is whistling something akin to "A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes".
1:52-2:05 is such great advice for anyone who questions if they're "good" at something. I think the messages in this series is so spot on in every regard I love it!
Eda has nearly everything that Camila lacks. It's sad that it needed only one episode to completely snuff out every mistake she made. We will see how these two will interact.
4:33 agree on the fact this scene would many any fan of the show cry, same with the season 2 finale ending and what happened at the end of season 3 ep 1.
I would've loved to see more fighting and magical use from eda tbh. Even when she was just playing around dueing her first fight with lilith in coven episode was like a hint of great power from her 😂 then when it was that serious fight against lilith, pheewwww eda was badass!!!!!
