Thanks for showing how the inspection light is useful in auto repair work. I've had a few inspection lights (though not Coast) and I use one for searching through small parts drawers in parts cabinets. However, inspection lights don't work well for me as general flashlights, especially while walking outdoors. They provide no situational awareness. You can only see in the small area which is illuminated and objects/animals/people outside of that small area are hidden until they are too close. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks. Honestly I don’t usually like inspection style lights but this one has been great. I agree it not ideal for hiking but as a general EDC it works. Especially not to bright of an output to be too bright at night. What do you use?
@@greatamericansurvival I have several lights, but favor single AAA or AA flashlights for ease of carry. I EDC a Streamlight Protac 1AAA, Surefire Titan Plus, or Inova X1. I have brighter lights for longer term outdoor use, too.
Yeah, the inspection-style lights aren't great for walking around, but they are great shop lights because all of their lumens fall in a bright circle, right where you're looking. Each has its place, and inspection lights aren't great as general-use flashlights as much as they are for tasks.
Uuggghhh - I’ve been having a hell of a time using this darn flashlight. It won’t stay on. Like you click the button and if I even a tiny bit it blinks off. Then if you tap it illuminates again. There’s fresh batteries 🔋 I know the lightbulb itself works….. so somewhere along the way there’s a hitch in the circuit I assume. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s unfortunate because I have to use the thing 6-8 times an hour 🙄
I think I might have fixed it. I took a piece of copper wire - tiny super thin jewelry wire - and I made twist of 2 ends and stuck the loop end over the existing spring in the tail cap making sure it was ‘stuck on good’ then I folded the twist up over the the spring and stuck the twist end into the loop end and made sure it was secure. It only stands above the existing spring a tiny bit but it think it’s just enough to make and KEEP the connection when the button is engaged while using the flashlight. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
MY G20 STOPPED WORKING ... I PLACED A PAIR OF FULLY CHARGED 10440 BATTERIES AND IT RAN FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS ... IT'S PROBABLE THAT THIS FLASHLIGHT CAN'T HANDLE THE TRIPLE POWER OF 10440 BATTERIES ... very doubtful i got a lemon but maybe one day i'll go to the store and buy another G20 ... switch out tale clicker to see if that failed ... or if indeed 10440 batteries will burn out light ...
@@marcowens3522 ......... i put in fully charged rechargeable (1.2V) and i barely got a firefly type beam coming out ... i think they want you to use coast batteries or alkaline ... the light is only like $12 bucks ... try it for yourself ... oh ... i've noticed in the video this G20 might be from years ago and the newer ones are doing this ... i'm not saying anything bad about the light i'm just saying use 10440 batteries ...
@@steve00055 what does me signing up 2 months ago got to do with anything lol? This is a new account because my old account I forgot the password to it.
