I just received a K270GKP Homefront from BladeHQ and I am happy to say mine is sharpened all the way to the choil without a "dead" spot on the edge. (better for sharpening with "V" ceramic sticks). Blade writings are different as well. For several years I've kept a Homefront Hunter in my hunting day pack. Great to field-dress a deer and be able to toss the knife in the heart & liver bag and disassemble & clean it back at home/camp. I'm a fan of AUS-8 ever since my SOG SEAL 2000. Japan and Taiwan do it right. My Ontario Rat 1 is in AUS-8 and I carry that around the farm & gardens and, while not abused, is used hard. Quick to get a razor edge back on it.
Have you tried out the newest version of the Homefront? It doesn't have the field strip technology and is assisted. I bought one just for the heck of it but it has become one of my favorites in my CRKT collection. Maybe you should check it out. Great review by the way.
Just came across your canoe video. Thank you. Didn’t see a playlist about canoes. Do you have any videos about handling and navigating with a canoe and also how to properly load? We just found a used one, exact same as yours. Thanks.
