A buddy of mine used the lever lock handcuffs, and when he was pulling them out to arrest, someone accidentally hit the lever and double locked them. He ended up hitting the guys wrist several times accidentally before realizing the mistake. The guy ended up suing for excessive force because of that. Be careful with the lever lock handcuffs because you might accidentally double lock them when you pull them out.

Good video, I retired in 2011 after 27 years of service. I thought I carried a lot. For the gun belt it was leather up to last 5 years. Our phones were flip. You be safe out there. May God bless you and your fellow Officers.

@@Jack_Wild86you didn't, but you certainly demonstrated that the holster CAN be removed...so all the bad guys have to do is Google how that's done now that they know about it... Respectfully, get yourself a vest or breakaway suspenders to help carry the weight of all that stuff because when you get older, your lower back & hips WILL be damaged...

Great video! Quick question: You mentioned that you purchased some of these items yourself. Did those purchased items replace ones that are issued or are they meant to supplement the issued items? Obviously your more personal items don't count.

I can't believe you use that flashlight compared to the flash lights that are out there. Now mine, Acebeam P17, will put out over 1,300 lumens for an 1.5 hr 24,000 candela, with a max of 4,900 lumens 49,000 candela. While your streamlight will only do 800 for 1.5 hr, 24,000 candela. Mine is twice as small, rechargeable, and has tungsten beads for breaking glass or anything else. Great choice on knife though.

Nice! I will look into that one for sure. I use the Streamlight only cause it's issued to us and they are very durable and have an awesome warranty. I've had one I purchased around 10 years ago and it's beat to hell. I've done it all with that light and it's still going. They may not be the brightest on the market but they hold up. @Jack_Wild86 I totally understand you, but Acebeam is one of the highest quality flashlight manufacturers along with Olight, Fenix, Streamlight, Nitecore. I respect you officers so much, and what you do. This would save you some weight and gain you performance, and I think you would like it better if you're able to carry it. The strobe, SOS, or 3 lumen moon mode is programmable. I keep mine on strobe because the tail of the flashlight has a rubber permanent on/off or temp press on/off along with another button right next to the main rubber button and if you hold that it's instant 4,900 strobe until you let go. The suspect would be absolutely incapacitated for precious seconds with that amount of light output. You'll be able to manipulate that smaller light to go for your service firearm or radio faster. I'm a flashlight, knife, and firearm enthusiast. Sorry for the rant, I just think this is a hugely overlooked thing in law enforcement.

I had them up front but the grip of the taser sits over them and blocks me from pulling them out, also I wasn't able to draw the taser cross draw. This way I can cross draw the taser and at least get the mags out. I know it's not completely ideal but it works better than the other way, for me at least.

@@Jack_Wild86 that makes sense, I can understand that being a smaller person as a security guard I found out quickly that if I don't need it don't carry it because extra weight on the belt is not always worth it

True. Carry that extra weight around for several years and it makes a difference on how fast it wears out your lower back and hips. Stay safe out there brother!

Thanks! I totally forgot to mention the boots for on call didn't I? So sorry about that! I wear the Bates Tactical Rallyforce boots when I'm on call. Also, I have a few other knives in my collection and I do plan on doing a video on them at a later time.

Do you use the same weapon light on your on call rig as your duty rig?

Yes I do. Same gun and holster. Only difference is the duty belt has the drop down belt loop rig that comes standard on safariland holsters and the on call set up is using the belt loop rig that is bought separately for a standard belt.

Were you issued the stinger flashlight I know some dept's have to use them due to the cars being equipped with the charger but there's a quantum leap over those lights

Yes, we are issued the Streamlight Stinger lights and our patrol vehicles have the chargers mounted in them as well.

Tattoos are a pretty common thing in society now days. A Lot of departments are getting relaxed on their tattoo policies and allowing us to show them. My first several years of my career I had to keep them covered.
