Thank you for the information. The government took so much taxes from me when I was employed. Now that I'm laid off, the government is making me jump through hoops just to get a fraction of what I gave them. I feel so violated.
Those taxes have nothing to do with unemployment. Your employer is the one who pays unemployment insurance. Those taxes are for the other things you get.
I left my job because I was robbed at gun point. I did try and continue to work but felt unsafe due to structure of construction which left the store vulnerable. The swing shift hours and I was so scared and locked the store and let in regulars and used the window. I had heard the owner was not happy and was about to deny me to do so. I decided to leave. Also during that time nobody contacted me after the robbery ever to check on me or ask me if I was ok or needed time off. I am currently receiving unemployment as my employer said I left due to my manager conflict. Then they never responded to something edd sent them and due to missing the deadline I was approved. However, now my issue is returning to work. I’m still unsure as I do apply to jobs but thank goodness they deny me. I feel I need to relay this when my interview happens. So my question is? What should I do?
My questions on back of my form are *Why are you no longer at your last job? *Were you warned that your actions could result in being fired? *When were you warned? None of those happened lol. The regional overhired and was fired over the weekend and then they laid me off after 7 days. Do those questions mean the employer is disputing that and saying I was fired for cause?????
@@alexestrada8765 I got it. It was really easy. The guy was super nice and was laughing at how obviously bullshit my employers answers were. Whole thing was 3 min maybe. Just be super nice to them and they'll be nice to you.
I gave two weeks' notice and two months after leaving my job I applied for unemployment. The reason I left was for school to further my education in the same industry, healthcare. Now I received a letter with three questions for a FUTURE phone interview. 1. Why are you no longer working at this job? To go back to school 2. What caused you to quit the job? No further advancement in my current position. 3. Did you request a leave of absence or discuss this with your supervisor before quitting? Yes, I asked if there was a leave of absence to further my education as a front desk receptionist and the answer was no. I was needed in my current position and there was no leave. My question is, are these valid answers to unemployment benefits?
I was driving 2hours everyday to and from work. I couldn't get my shift changed to go back to school to further my education to get a different position closer to my house . So I resigned, the EDD disqualified me.

My employer claimed I “violated hospital policy,” which I have proof that I didn’t. So because I was fired, EDD had to call me. I gave my position, then they called my former job. HR blatantly lied to them! I saw this in the appeal documents. And the worst part is that EDD sided with the employer without having detailed evidence, and EDD boldly accused me of violating a patient privacy law. Do you BELIEVE THIS? EDD has no right to even accuse me of that, and I am going to be remarking about that in my recorded appeals hearing. I really have to chastise them for that severely (besides my former employer who committed fraud when they hired me and then wrongfully terminated me).
I've been getting Edd benefits now for going on 3 months and I today didn't get my deposit so I called and the rep told me that my benefts are pending an interview from Edd. My most recent employer (A staffing agency) that I was temping for only a few weeks is saying my work is unsatisfactory therefore they are fighting it. I don't know what they mean I did what I was suppose to was on time there every single day.... I've never had a Staffing agency do this to me! I was counting on this to pay my rent and now i don't know what I'm gonna do. Can they set me for an interview even if i have been receiving for going on 3 months now? I though an employer had 10 days to respond to the claim filed? These employers along with edd are just too much it's crazy what they put us through! : (

I had a good interview and I was told that after contacting the employer, my claim will be approved. However I received letter informing that postal service could not deliver letter from EDD to address specified on the claim. Apparently employer has old address listed in EDD website. Should I appeal or file new claim with correct employer address ? I did not receive postal mail from EDD requesting more info because mailbox was vandalized.
I did not quit my job and my Employer has not fired me, my Dr. has put me off work beause of Health reasons. I have applied for Disability and do not qualify because of no contributions to SDI. Do I qualify for UI benefits if I'm looking for another type of job that does not affect my health condition ?
He didn't go over nuance situations of quiting. Like quiting to care for a family member and you had no choice to separate to care for that family member then that situation changes, you want to return to work or find new work so you file unemployment as for the foreseeable future you aren't getting work.

Hi Adam, April 2020 I applied for UI, was awarded PEUC benefits, I applied that I quit my last job due to the coronavirus, underlying health conditions, received benefits for over a year, just received a Notice of Determination/Ruling Aug 2022,(failed to return from a LOA, Section 1256 Provides, that I’m Disqualified If I quit without Good Cause) Now they say I did not qualify, have you seen this? I appealed, waiting on date, any information on this situation? Will cause extreme hardship to pay back

I got a notice for phone interview and i thought it was fraud so I called edd. I was told that the interview is for my 2020 filing. I'm so anxious now and have to wait for 2 weeks before I get my actual interview.. I filed for reduced hours at that time and why are they questioning it now.
@@christianramirez8428 employer's name and phone number, what type of payments i received, how much payment was taken out before taxes.. receipt of payments received from employer. I don't work for that employer anymore and don't remember the hours I worked. Crazy that they're asking for it after 3 yrs.
I knew right when the interviewer called I was denied by the sound of his voice . He rattled off four questions in 20 seconds totally confused me was rude and rushed me which i didnt understand one of the questions and i may have given the wrong answer when i changed my answer. All 45 seconds and he was gone. I thought he was suppose to help at least. But it seemed like this so called public servant didnt care about my side of the story. He should be fired!
Can you get the unemployment before certification and then file for bankruptcy if you know it won't be accepted? So when they charge you, you file for bankruptcy.
Question so they fired me because he assumed I was punching in other employees but when they suspended me and let me go, I didn’t sign no papers I didn’t sign nothing at all. Am I able to still get an appointment?

From what I read is that doing the time they gave you a date for the phone interview, If you don’t get a phone call than they found the answer or they no longer need to do an interview. Just call the EDD
Was laid off and applied for UI. It should be easy but because they are doing identification things it's taking forever and I've uploaded many documents which should be what they are looking for....
What if you complete your two week notice, but your manager requests to reverse your notice and you receive your final paycheck a month and a half after?

What if they said u didn’t perform to standards? When I did. And every min they were changing their call out policy and not even fallowing their own policy with attendance or never provided write ups and written documentation or giving me my breaks ?
I appreciate all the efforts being made to help me whilst being unemployed. But, what do you do if you know your worth, yet you are willing to go below that just to work, which I did. I went from $26 an hr to $15 just to go back to work. But i digress, what about us older workers? I am now 53 years old, yes the avatar is me 3 years ago, but they look at your age and automatically dismiss you for your age without telling you that they are hiring someone else because they want someone younger because THAT is illegal. Its just frustrating

I was able to receive my unemployment, my thing is that they make you go through all these hoops, like now I have to go through this virtual training and this "employment basics and all this junk where you are like wait a minute, I know what to do and how to apply and how to interview but it's not on me, it's on the employers wanting to hire teenagers and are bypassing older workers with experience.
what about if you approach the person you report to and advise them you will be seeking opportunities outside of the company because you have not gotten a raise in almost 2 years. you are then let go because of this do you qualify?

They were not setting up interviews. Just disbursing claims. But it's because such a large percent of the population was laid off. There was no way they could individually evaluate everyone. That would've probably taken years.
what if you are a loan original working for a broker on straight commission but on W-2, not 1099. And because the Feds have raised interest so high, causing no one to be able to qualify for a mortgage loan. you're still working with that broker but you're pretty much unemployed and not able to earn any $$ at all for the entire year so far.

Will severance pay affect my eligibility? I am in CA and received a letter for a call. I was recently laid off due to reduction in workforce. My company paid me severance so not sure if that could be why?
My package was ongoing paychecks for 3 months, then a lump sum. I applied after the ongoing payments stopped and the lump sum was paid. The lump sum means your income stopped as of that date. You have to note all that when you submit the numbers but the fact is you aren't getting payments any longer. I was approved after the week or so wait period.
lets say the HR wants to see you monday in the office right after your day off. you already know you will be fired, so you a no call no show. your come back to work the next day and your are in the HR office now. Now they give you papers to sign basically saying i am being terminated. In this case, who would be considered the first mover?

@@prems2915 sure...3 main questions...why did you leave..which i said i was ask questions about a conversation that took place, im union so i thought it was odd that my union rep wasnt there during questioning...2nd...did you receive a verbal or written warning...which i had not....and did you perform you duties...which i had...i was offered a manager position 2 times which i declined.. thanks for your help
@@premlatabahenshah5929 they would attempt to contact my former employer and they had 2 days till respond...that was it...also edd was supposed to call within a 2 hour window and they contacted me 45 after that window...
Will a scheduled phone interview pause my claim after I claimed them already? I claimed them a day after Xmas, it said 1-2 business days it’ll be deposited but I’m on the 2nd business day and I have not received my benefits
I would like to know if I am eligible for UI when my company was offering early retirement packages and they approached me after working for them 40 years if I was interested. I knew if I did not accept this (which was a very good package) I would be laid off in couple of months with a lesser benefits. this all happened during pandemic (aerospace business not doing well) and I took the package ending 12/31/2020, receiving a good severance package in 01/01/2021. currently, I need to go back to work to earn money meanwhile I'd like to know if I can be qualified for unemployment?
I mean I was not able to work and p and a friend of mine was going to help me do it or did help me receive my EDD but when I've lost my card I could not change my address and me and the friend had a fall out and he kept my card and kept using it for two more years three more years plus and I really needed that money how do I fix that

I got a call appointment today 8-10 It’s my first time but I don’t think imma win because I got fired for leaving early (Misconduct) The management was horrible and they treated my like a slave that’s the reason why I left I was cool with John my manager just not everyone else but I was never rude It was a 10 hour shift and at lunch I left home early 3 times which. Is why I got fired They’d come straight to me to ask to do something I don’t know how to do while they walked passed 5 people doing nothing looking for something to do So they would stop me from working to make me go do something else I didn’t like and when I would want to do something else to get fresh air they wouldn’t allow me and put me back to loading (they only ever wanted me out a container when they wanted to but not when I wanted to) I’d call beforehand if I thought I was going to be late I had no issues with co-workers and I’d show up to work everyday I wouldn’t listen to them so they fired me The part that worries me for the call is if they ask why’d I go home early and I tell them, they’ll see it as “he’s just not a good employee and not a good reason to go home” I don’t know what they’ll ask and I don’t think I’m prepared I have a list jobs I applied for The dates of when I asked for a claim how long I worked Not not ready for anything else I just hope they accept since I am looking for work and plan on going to agencies after the call
