Very few lost cave divers survive. But every once in a while--usually only if Edd Sorenson is around--a lost cave diver gets rescued alive. In this episode of DIVE STORIES, world famous cave technical rescue diver Edd Sorenson talks about one of the rescue dives where he was able to make it in time to save the life of a lost cave diver at Jackson Blue Springs, in Florida.
#cavediving #rescue #scuba #scubadiving
DIVE STORIES is the new series on @BlueWorld_plus featuring famous scuba divers talking about experiences they had in the world of diving. Some are scary. Most are amazing.

Nobody else has to drown (though I have no doubt some will anyway)... AND Edd could regale us with stories narrated by him, and re-enacted by actors for more than a decade!!! Throw just a bit of production to the "fade to scene" while he voice-over's the thing, and whether you animate it, or just blue-screen divers in a pool going through the motions, the visuals to work with his telling would get to everyone... "Can you blame him?" "So you don't have to decompress with a dead guy" - Jonathan, you're killing me, I was cracking up. Love Edd's heart for rescue, it's a true testament to someone's character that will risk their life to save someone they don't know or to bring a body out. I agree he needs to write a book. Imagine you're lost in a cave, your buddies are nowhere to be found. You're totally alone in 0 visibility and you know you're running out of air and running out of time just trapped in an air pocket with no gas. As you start to panic out of the darkness a mystery hand just comes out of the water offering you more gas. The guy would be out of it and not even know if it was real in the moment. God I love this man, and I just found out about him. Every video I watch I comment Edd Sorenson is a National Treasure and Hero! A true American in every since of the world. His stories should be told world wide. He is what every human should strive to be like.

I dive, recreational. I will never ever do caves. I am not strong nor brave enough. I have been watching videos of Edd all day. I have a new hero. I cannot understand this man, I can only admire him. Is he even human? Intuitive, humble, brave...
