This is a Masterclass. Standing there. No big stage. Different country. Using French, German, Latin and English with a Swedish audience. Wow. Just wow.
Ah this is classic Eddie, me and my dear pal Ray would watch him on VHS with wine, pissing ourselves laughing, sides splitting, we'd be on the floor.. Ray passed away years ago now, it's kinda sad watching on my own...good times
So sorry for your loss, happy to hear you have at least some great memories to cherish forever. Did you hear Eddie has a new show called Wunderbar? (Silver linings and such)
The only problem I EVER had with Eddi izzard is that all his shows end. It's so good I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoy his style and humor
It’s such a shame that he’s now leaning more towards being a political activist than being in comedy. He was such a brilliant comedian, funny and original.
Well said I hate they end and if I've searched and found stuff I've seen before I love seeing them again like seeing Oliver and hardy. This person is the personification of what we humans ßhould strive to be learn to laugh at our individual obsurbities
wish it was real history, but ain't everyone realising most of what is printed is wrong. look up ...tartaria Australia. Hi'story is indeed written by the victors. Bankers seem to be one of the main corruptions, but secret societies have infiltrated everything nearly. kind regards all
one of the few comedians i can listen to the same bit over and over, he always adds something new to it, or old to it, and never in the same order or wording. dude is hilarious.
Same here! It's strange how many times I've seen Dress To Kill and it never gets old! I think it's because the jokes aren't necessarily based on a punch line or a twist, it's just stories with different characters that all have distinct accents or gestures attached to them and it's just entertaining to dive into that world. I've also noticed you can't start midway through an Eddie Izzard comedy show because there are so many callbacks and they get progressively subtler. Like, at some point a specific voice (usually James Mason) will bring back a joke from before or Eddie will point at something and you remember that that's where the monkey is etc.
I’m starting to see the same bits at this point in my Eddie Izzard journey … it’s fun to watch what he emphasizes to appeal to different cultures. British Royalty jokes work, food jokes work. Notice how he emphasizes the punch line some times because he was warned to not talk so fast.
Eddie is universal. I was watching how he fully changes the emotions of the 3 people sitting near him. They start out with frowns, crossed arms, drawn into themselves, almost angry. Little by little Eddie changes them into open, laughing people. I wish he could do that for all of us in the US right now!
@@billhawkins192 I agree about the talent. As the original poster said, Izzard's talent is off the scale. However, I refuse to play along with this fundamentalist transgender agenda. It's not only nonsense, I think it's doing far more damage than good. Izzard was and is and always will be a bloke.
In the mid-2000s, I saw Eddie at a small venue rehearsing and polishing up the act for an upcoming tour in Latin America. Eddie literally learned Spanish for the tour. It was an amazing show.
the controlled anxiety and expressions from the filmed crowd on his right side took my attention during the whole thing. I only met Eddie's work today for the first time and oh my god, this is a comedy genius.
Thanks for uploading this jewel! It's so refreshing to hear brand new jokes he created especially for the local audience, whichever country he was performing for, plus to hear gags he used in later shows, it's just priceless. Like you see one's progress to become someone we already know: a comic genius.
Language barrier for sure. At least she is being polite by smiling every now and then even though she probably can't understand English fluently. Especially at the pace that Eddie speaks at.
To be able to play this crowd is genius … the best of the best stand ups would bomb with this audience, But Eddie finds a common denominator and plays it beautifully.
Loving the irony of picture issues just as he talks about technology (49:48) 😀. Thanks for recording and sharing this great demonstration of the genius that is Eddie
I spent as much time slapping the table with joyous abject hilarity... and also eagle eyed wishing, watching the ppl behind you... they cracked... that was joyous...... I'm writing this... I still have not watched the end.... but to stop at this moment in time.... is. My Eddie. EPIC.. you cracked them!
He's fantastic...if only because he's still SO VERY funny w/that table of..."no, we won't laugh, no matter what you say, maybe smile, a little bit, but no laughing".
Yeah I've heard them all too, but still laughing - and it's nice to hear the way different audiences react to them. Did anyone else get the feeling the Woman in the pink shirt didn't know how to react after he mentioned being a transvestite? She seems kind of out of sync for a few minutes after that... I like the blonde Guy, he is usually very serious but he does crack up for some of the sweeter, more innocent stuff, very cute.
I've spent an hour just watching the faces of the couple sitting right behind Eddie. Occasionally I got too carried away I forgot the whole point of it was to listen to the comedy
This was like watching prime Pink Floyd in a pub. Amazing comedy set from Eddie. I think 'the table' was for descendants of king Gustav. They softened and then whenever he mentioned the ship, their sphincters tightened like an Angelina Jolie duckface-selfie.
He was perforning in Sweden. They looked very Swedish. Can you understand a second language as intricately as Eddie uses English? Comparison is the death of kindness. Happy Hindsight!
Amazing to watch the man and woman who are always in the frame with him. First I thought they didn't understand a word. Then I realized they are a kind of high class that doesn't smile in public, but he forced them to.
Saw him on the Glorious tour in Newcastle and met him outside where he signed my program and 'Izzla' cigarette papers (?). He's a lot smaller than you'd think. ☺️
I would have loved to have her as a Social Studies teacher when I was in school. I remember the times he was in America on The Craig Ferguson Show. Both him and Craig are great lovers of history and the banter back and forth was genius.
