It's only about money. From 2012 to 2021 North have had more success (ladder/finals) than Ess, Carl, Saints, GC* and Brisbane.

Full credit to him for his loyalty, I’d like to know from both Lloyd and Lyon why they think Travis Boak would agree to join North Melbourne. This is a player who had Geelong, one of the powerhouse teams of the competition, come calling on his door at a time when port had one eight games in two years and knocked them back to turn that club around. If he wants a player/coaching role moving forward port will certainly give it to him.

Isn’t the very nature of competition the fact that there will always be a team that struggles or is always last ? It’s impossible for everyone to be in the eight every year. Starting to feel like a participation ceremony where just because you’re in it you get a medal.

this is typical of eddie mcguire, kicking a team when it's down, he forgets when collingwood had a bad run, north melb are a older club than collingwood, so if they are looking for a team for tasmania look at a club other than nth melb. btw i don't barrack for nth melb. but i do say if tassie should have a team it should come out of victoria who has ten clubs.

North not only have been in deep trouble on the pitch but also financially in trouble for at least 10 years this can't go on where the afl has to keep bundling them out of trouble year after year

North needs to have a clean out of senior management in addition to a coach who is completely out of his depth. The players aren't as bad as many people think because the coach is incapable of getting anywhere near the best out of them, either through skills development, a decent game plan, or motivation to put their body on the line. Eddie previously said there would be a revolt amongst other clubs if North were awarded a high first round priority pick, but there have been 19 first round priority picks awarded in the past of which ten were pick #1, five were pick #2 and four were pick #3. Ten clubs shared in those early first round priority picks with Melbourne and Carlton receiving three each, Collingwood, Fremantle, St Kilda, Bulldogs and Hawthorn receiving two each and West Coast, Richmond and the Suns one each. I wasn't able to find details on start of round two priority picks, but I know Brisbane got one in 2016. North has never received a priority pick of any kind and is part of a minority of clubs in that position. Surely the AFL can't deny North an early first round priority pick this time around? Noble needs to be sacked immediately to prevent him from doing even more damage to the club than he already has.

McGuire is a joke he wants North Melbourne to be another quasi VFL team in a different state not lose any games in Vic at the expense of SA,WA, Qld and NSW. Melbourne would get more games because Hawthorn wouldn't play games in Tasmania anymore and the North games they play in Tasmania now would be played in Melbourne. Then these jokes sit there and say a Cochin or a Pendelbury wouldn't leave Collingwood or Richmond but Boak would leave Port. The arrogance is off the charts.

Unfortunately I worry for North supporters i sadly think they will go to Tasmania or merge with another club just like Fitzroy did

For once I agree with Eddie that North Melbourne are just doing it tough. They are in need of a few more players and I think they have some younger guns there that can do something special with the right management and leaders.

I agree Tassie need a team, but how is it fair to play 22 games with only 1 hr travel each way for 11 of them yet Perth / Brisbane etc travel every 2nd week for longer than 1hr

Eddie shows some propper perspective and all carro can say is "but you werent having 100+ losses every week" - north have been largely uncompeditive sure, but only two 100+ losses this year. hardly every week.

Losing North via folding it merging is no great loss. They contribute nothing to the League yet act like they're one of the big boys and pretend they're a destination club. Should've been told to either go the Gold Coast in 2007 or lose their license.

Sorry but Carlton haven't won a flag since 1995 and haven't been in content for atleast a decade. North weren't a rabble 3 or 4 years ago. Teams shed and redevelop. Really talking about this like its the first time a team has struggled. Christ. Yeah. End them, then wait 5 years for Tasmania to have a fully functional team and have a bye every week with 17 teams.

Does make you wonder how things would have gone had they moved to the Gold Coast as Demetriou wanted them to all those years ago. I lived in Queensland in 2007 and drove down from Rockhampton to the Gold Coast to meet some friends who travelled up from Melbourne to support their beloved Roos at Carrara. Local radio DJs were already saying “Our Kangaroos” at the time, not exactly a Roy Morgan poll, but shows there was some effort to try to adopt them as per Sydney and the Swans.

Sorry North but, it’s time to go. Even when they were a dominant force they never had a big membership or big following. Noble spraying the players, then apologising to them and letting the media know, he lost all integrity, respect, trust and belief from everyone in sundry. Apologises for giving the players the truth right between the eyes, that is a guy second guessing himself and trying to keep everyone happy. Stand by your actions with your chest out.

When it comes to the North Melbourne Football Club I wouldn't trust a thing that comes out of Caroline Wilson's mouth, she's had a vendetta against the club that goes way back to 1974 when her father was Richmond President and he believed Keith Greig defeated Keven Barrtlett unjustly in the Brownlow Medal count and he made a fool of himself at the event and the following day. She has been trying to kick the NMFC out of Melbourne for 30 years and has failed and she will fail again. And as for Eddie McGuire's idea to ship NMFC to Tasmania and play 11 games in Melbourne and 11 in Tassie, well that's just another one of his idiotic ideas that may make sense in his mind, but sounds laughable and embarrassing as soon as he announces on his TV or Radio program. What a fool.

Relegate North Melbourne to the VFL, give Tassie their own team!!

North Melbourne coaching position is a poison chalice, unlike the corrupt football media who won't tell you the truth about North Melbourne situation it is a self-inflicted wound, 2 years ago they got rid of 20 players,no club could sustain success ,with so many players going out of the lists, it will take 5 years before they see some success ,Alastair Clarkson is not stupid he doesn't want to tarnish his reputation by taking the North Melbourne job, he'll be in the same situation as noble, nobody can make North Melbourne successful at this stage, it will take time, if any prospector coach, who comes out say that he can prove the current list is delusional, the coach of North Melbourne Noble is sitting there saying nobody wants this poison chalice of a position
