When he was playing at North Launceston a team mate whom is a work colleague of mine said he will go of the rails quick for no one has never said no to him and his ego was massive. How correct he is

Hopefully the young man pulls his finger out and gets back on track. No one should be training harder than him for the rest of the year, apologies to every one of his team mates and coaching staff, public apology. Not too late to turn this around, he better start now and not throw his life away.

They are kind of glossing over how dumb/dangerous what Thomas was doing, like it was just a bit of silliness. He was driving at night, with his feet on the dashboard, on what seems to be the wrong side of the road. Maybe it was a 2 lane highway, but it is still incredibly dangerous.

Get him back to the club and freeze all his payments until his fit to play. Everyone knows money talks and you watch what happens once the hand stops feeding.

If he doesn't want to make an effort, why keep him? He isn't a child

Crazy that we’re calling 23 year old young men ‘kids’. He should know by now, why keep giving players like these lifelines when younger talented players are waiting for a call up.

I hope Thomas can turn his life around and mature and come back to North. Has all the talent in the world and I would hate to see a Harley Bennell scenario with Tarryn Thomas. North probably shouldn't delist him but offer him a performance based contract if they decide to give him a new contract.

Give him the ass. Got to be cruel to be kind. Crows cut ties with Tyson Stengle. It turned out the best thing that happened to him. Not only did he win a flag at Geelong and got AA honours, he turned his life around.

If people understood how quickly the life ahead of you becomes the life behind you they would act very differently. Tarryn Thomas trying to impress hanger ons and people he thinks are his mates. (If they are such great mates why did they share your dumb post driving like an idiot?) Focus on what you're good at, not on trying to show off 'living the life' that's actually quite empty.

Normally I don’t like Eddie Mcguire with his numerous gaffes, but he is absolutely right on the money with this issue. Get Tarryn surrounded by stronger role models - perhaps even pair him up with a senior player in the team to help mentor him off field as well

Only reason he hasn’t been sacked is the same reason Bennell wasn’t sacked and we all know what it is but these muppets need there own “voice” when they can’t even manage themselves!

Kids play compared to our Cousins, and how about de goey. Give the lad some help if he doesn’t comply then delist him or move him on see, if any other club is willing to pick up his baggage. It's time to pull the pin on Thomas he is not mature enough to be in this position. TBH it's very sad however he has made choices that are constantly effecting him in negative ways not only him but others are effected by his actions. I believe he needs to have some tuff love dished out to him. Because all this it will be alright mate just think before you act. He only has a few years to get himself in a position to really make an impact in the AFL. sometimes the best lessons are dished up cold and hard. That way there's no rosy glasses to affect his outlook only blatant facts and blatant reality's. I do wish him all the best. Sometimes The AFL is all to much for a young and lonely adult and all the money and support can't help. I remember a young talented forward the played for castlemain football club Carlton liked him souch they sent Diesel Williams down to bendigo to lure him into the AFL as I recall he only played once or maybe twice and he just couldn't handle the life in the city and being away from his family and just wanted to go back home so much so that Carlton had to just let him go PS he was a great kick a left footer with a good eye I recall he once kicked 23,7 for castlemain Vs sandhurst and at the time sandhurst was in the top 8 his name eludes me at the moment when I finally click I'll edit this and put his name at the bottom of the comment. I cannot disagree with Eddie more, that is horrendous advice. Social study after social study after social study have shown that the opposite of what Eddie is hoping will happen, will happen. He won’t be lifted up by the other players, he will drag them down into the gutter. Keep him the hell away from the club for now. Or, given chance after chance that he has been gifted, it might be time to cut him loose entirely.

Now clubs should have the power to sack players for any behaviour enough is enough

AFL clubs aren’t a cheap KD minding service and Eddie obviously doesn’t care about the young women in Tarryn’s case and I’ve had a gut’s full of AFL players acting like they’re the victims!!!

Not saying North or any club is obliged to keep such players but sacking him will harm him more than if he stays, he's a young man clearly crying for help or something that's up to psychologist to figure out, AFL clubs have the power to help young men long term not just financially either.

So out of touch with the real world.I understand Eddies point but totally disagree.What other industries give chance after chance . Us so called “everyday people “ would be shown the door in the common work place . You think your boss or managers don’t scope your social media profiles from time to time .The first port of call is to do it after a job interview. And yes they probably can’t sack you for an incident like this but indirectly they will , if they deem something you did like this , they will find a way to torch you or make your work life so horrible, you will towel it yourself. But not AFL players , chance after chance. Totally removed from the rules and standards we are inlined with. I hope Thomas can turn it around,the guy can certainly play , I am commenting on the system opposed to the individual.
