On May 15, 2021, TCM showed "Touch of Evil" (1958) on its weekly "Noir Alley" show (Saturday night at midnight ET, repeating Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. ET) Here is the intro by host Eddie Muller, aka The Czar of Noir.
Heston is hands down the worst part of this film. He looks and acts like a normal white guy with shoe polish smeared on his face. But Eddie points out that no Heston, no Touch of Evil. Almost everything else about the film is great. Life is complicated.
