Wow, Eddie was indeed INCREDIBLE in this movie. From the physical resemblance, all the way to the characterisation from the whole body language. It was amazing to watch!
I love this actor. I mean he's good looking and has a soothing voice, sure, but the really admirable qualities he has are that not only is he an incredibly talented actor, but he's so passionate and so sincere. I can't help but notice how he says 'thank you' with such sincerity and humility whenever he is praised by Ellen in this interview or by any other interviewer. Much respect.
+spain n barca footy fan Haha I loved your comment I just wanted to write the exact same thing! He has a way to express what he is thinking in such a polite, agreeable and wonderful way that is impossible to not be delighted by his appearance! And he is nothing like fake and over excited because he is quite popular these days...he still is the same gentlemanlike, intelligent, handsome, talented, real and down-to-earth guy he always has been! So lovely🙊❤️
Absolutely! I loved his appearance even more with his glasses on in the film. But hey, there are much more great films he has been in. Sure he used to focused a lot on stage productions within the years, but you should come to know more of his flicks. I mean My week with Marilyn alongside Michelle Williams or Elisabeth: The Golden Age alongside Cate Blanchett or The other Boleyn Girl with Portman and Johansson or The Pillars of the earth ... Believe me, that man isn't just handsome, he's really versatile!!... And married! : -D
I watched The Theory of Everything and it never felt like I was watching someone portray Stephen Hawking. It felt as if I was watching Hawking as himself. Redmayne was phenomenal. However, I will say that there seemed to be something lacking from the movie. Basically (and I guess that you can say thankfully), due to the way Hawking's life has played out, the movie was missing a big finish.
+sharrell86 I agree with your opinion that it felt like watching the real Hawking. I've been Hawking fan for long time and seen a lot of footage of him and Redmayne potrayed him perfectly, I genuinely think it would be impossible to top his performance.
My thoughts exactly! This movie truly felt like going back in time and witnessing Stephen Hawking's young adult days and everything he went through, from studying, falling in love and to battling ALS and the scary progress it had on him. I knew who Eddie Redmayne was before watching the movie for the first time but I didn't see Eddie, I saw Stephen Hawking, or at least that's what it truly felt like. An amazing and authentic movie in every way!
Princess Ama There are time differences around the world when he died it was the 14th in my country and when I typed the comment it was the 15th in my country so🙄🤦♀️
What more could you ask in a guy? He's gorgeous, he can sing, he can act, he passioate about his job and he's got a sexy body. oh my god i love this guy!
He is such a great actor and it wouldn't surprise me that he gets best actor award this year again for The Danish Girl. he is wonderful in it, in all the meanings of the term.
same! I cant think of another actor who would have the guts to play a transgender girl. I love Eddie not just by his looks but his passion for acting and singing. His acting just amazes me.
I knew when I saw him in Les Mis, when he was still growing as an actor, that he was going to be huge one day. He definitely deserved that Oscar for his performance as Hawking
If you don't have a movie to catch this weekend, The Theory of Everything is what you NEED to watch. Eddie Redmayne is flipping fantastic and got into the skin of Stephen Hawking effortlessly. I hope for an oscar nomination and him walking away winning it.
Dear Mr. Redmayne, I am not aware whether you realize the 'monumental' performance you have put in while playing the role of Dr. Hawking. Time shall stand testimony to the ' acting master class' you meted out to all and shall be recalled years from now. Thank you!!
Glad he won the Oscar and that they made a movie about the fantastic Stephen Hawking, a true role model for his intellect, dedication and perseverance.
KristineJL Actually Benedict played that role but in a televised film (the film didn't go to the big screen, but was shown on the BBC I think..) It was obviously not meant to get an Oscar, that's why Benedict didn't get a nomination for that. I don't know if you saw The Imitation Game but Benedict's acting was precious and a total Oscar worthy. I just saw The Theory of Everything and loved it, but I still think Benedict should have won... Redmayne was excellent too, obviously. I don't know.. maybe I wanted Benedict to win because I am a bit more of a fan of his, but honestly, I think both actors are incredible xD
I watched this movie last week, since I now live in the UK, and I'm telling you guys - this movie is AMAZING!!!! Eddie is extremely talented, you won't even believe, he's now nominated for an Oscar for this role and I'm 110 pct. sure that he'll win it, no doubt. Cheers to Eddie
+Kylo Ren I know, I should have said UK men. That includes the Irish, Scotsmen, and the English. Speaking of Scots, Gordon Ramsay ought to be on that list.
Marcella Ganzorig No. Just no. Republic of Ireland is completely separate from England,Wales and Scotland. Only Northern Ireland is part of the UK because England are still a country of thieves
I love Eddie Redmayne! He's such a brilliant actor! I saw him in 'The Theory Of Everything' and Eddie and Felicity Jones were fantastic! But really, everyone in the film is amazing! And Eddie does look like the young Stephen Hawking. And Eddie did win Best Actor Award. He totally deserved it!
I've watched a lot of Eddie's interviews for promoting the Theory of Everything and it's always the same stories. But I never get tired of him talking about it tbh...
I would've voted for Benedict for his performance of the imitation game, but after seeing the theory of everything I changed my mind, he definitely deserves to win the oscars and he already has the golden globes award which is wonderfull.
Yes, he is the "obvious" choice for his depiction of a disabled person. BUT, Benedict Cumberbatch deserves the Oscar because he brilliantly plays a man without whom on this earth at the time and place that he was, Stephen Hawking would likely have have not even been born, and even if he was, would not have had computers to help him with his science. See The Imitation Game BEFORE you make a decision about who really deserves the Oscar honor. Frankly, I can't think of a film like The Imitation Game having ever been made and I have watched hundreds and hundreds of films throughout 50+ years of life. If you have an IQ above 100, your mind will be blown at what you will learn and your heart will fill and burst with sadness and gladness at the same time.
Wow. Not only do I absolutely LOVE his acting, but he is such a wonderful person in real life too! I've watched a few of his interviews now and he's just so gracious; he seems truly touched when his acting is praised. What an amazing person! I hope to meet him some day!
Eddie is such an amazing actor, and I wish him all the best. His performance in "The theory of Everything" was gold👌 and so emotionally gratifying. R.I.P steven hawking 💕
I just finished watching the movie this evening and Eddie was breathtakingly brilliant. I tried not to cry so many times whilst watching it, I nearly paused the film every five minutes because I needed to breather. Such a talented and kind soul and rest in peace to who is possibly the greatest mind we have ever known, Stephen Hawking.
I'll always remember Stephen Hawking as one of the best people on this Earth. May he always be remembered as one of the world's greatest Inspirations that we have well-known. We miss you already Stephen Hawking
Congrats to Eddie on this incredible performance. He brings me to tears with every performance,he has a magical quality about him.He really is so impressive.
He's such a beautiful person inside and out! I have so much respect for this man! I loved his dedication for his role as Hawking in the movie and his support for the ALS campaign(the ice bucket challenge and donations),he did an amazing performance in The Theory Of Everything, and made my heart melt with his speech at the Oscars. I hope to see more of him in the movies from now on.
I watched all of the movies who were nominated for the Golden Globes this year. All of the actors were magnificent. I love Cumberbatch and Keaton but Eddie's performance moved me the most.
I want to have a wife like the one he had, what a WOMAN (nothing to compare with most of today ones). Hats down to her, and the actress in the movie too, as nobody seemed to talk about her.
I love watching Eddie and Ellen together! Every interview with these two are amazing because they look like they're having such an amazing time talking to each other.
Eddie Redmayne was absolutely stunning, amazing and absolutely wonderful playing Stephen Hawking. The movie The Theory of Everything was a great movie.
WOW! I just discovered that Eddie Stephen and I are so close in birthdays, I was born on January 9th, Eddie 6th, stephen 8th, Capricorns are geniuses ! Ijust wish he wins the Oscar !
i watched this film and it is hard to put my emotion into words. this is an amazing film. i cried for the strength Stephen holds, for the what Jane did for him. and i cried for the meaningful end of the film. thank Eddie for resounding such an incredible person.
my favorite actor since les miserables, i knew he would would play more mature films, such an inspiration that he play stephen hawking, like WOW. i cant imagen being in his place, such an inspiration!! he deserves an Oscar! ( cross fingers )
He went to Eton, which is where the extremely posh accent comes from. It is undoubtedly part of his appeal as as actor for certain scripts. He is a very talented actor, but I wonder how many children from less well off backgrounds would have had the opportunities he had due to parental wealth.
