Eddie Van Halen's Gift to Jason Becker - We Need Your Help! 

It's not that Eddie gave Jason a guitar, it's that he personally delivered it and hung out. Much respect to two legends.

As a Dad and full time carer to my son with lots of medical conditions, I was in tears that EVH actually did this for Jason. I wish I could buy the guitar and let Jason keep it. Thank you Benny for making me cry. Sending much love over to Jason and his family x

What makes me cry every time I watch this video, isnt so much about Eddie gifting him that guitar, but how Eddie showed such vulnerability physically toward Jason. His display of affection toward Jason is hard for most guys, me included. We always see Eddie the rock star, but not Eddie the mere human like the rest of us who showed such compassion, love, and humility toward Jason.

EVH will always be remembered for this.

I am 52 and remember when he first hit the scene in the early 80’s as a new guitarist , one of my friends named Curtis ( 🕊R.I.P. ) got the Perpetual Burn album after reading about Jason as the new hot rod player on the block. We were definitely not disappointed in the least when we finally heard it ! ( I lived in a very small town so it took awhile to get new music like this into someone’s hands ) , we put it on and we were all like W😮W! 🤯 total facemelter 🤟🏻 mind fully blown ! what did I just hear. !!! Play That Again Immediately! 😄👍🏻. That was so Insanely Awesome! Even to this day so many years later it’s still just as incredible and it always will be ! Altitudes and Perpetual Burn are still to this day some of the greatest pcs of music ever played on a guitar by anyone ever! ( the Jeff Loomis cover kicked ass! 🤟🏻and so does Jeff Loomis himself! such a nice and respectful guy in real life) I guarantee the first time Eddie heard those tracks it made him smile that trademark grin you all know so well 😊. You know when you get Eddie Van Halen’s attention ( as well as the rest of us ) You’ve really done something truly great 😮 and Eddie obviously recognized this fact so he responded in kind ( just like he did with Dime!😊) the way he always did when something moved him like that and he also did something really great and kind as well by gifting Jason this guitar. Eddie truly was a nice guy and a legendary player for a reason, he earned it ! and so did Jason. I wish I could buy this guitar for a massive pile of cash 💵 and then give it to Wolfgang and have him play it live on the new tour for a while autograph it and then give it back to Jason during the live show when Wolfgang plays with Mammoth in Jason’s home area of the USA again ! Wolfie deserves the attention he has been getting he’s an amazing musician and a stellar human being and a kind, real person like his Dad was. No wonder Eddie was so proud of him ! We are all just starting to see for ourselves exactly why ! 🎸🤟🏻😎👍🏻

It is so awesome we get to watch this. One of those special moments thats kinda sacred yet we get to witness eddies both great playing and his compassion for both his son and his new friend jason.

Thanks for doing this man, I know it will be appreciated by Jason and his loved ones. It's such a damn shame that any person or family has to struggle to survive due to medical costs. While I'm not in that level of medical debt for my wife, its still so expensive to just cover monthly bills while still paying for the endless medical bills. Its absurd, and until someone has to go through these experiences, they'll never understand the stress and hardships it can cause.

I don't know how this kinda stuff works, but I hope that the deep pocket magilla that steps up either let's Jason keep the guitar or agrees to put it in a museum. Putting this on display can have the benefit of increasing awareness of Jason's story and ALS awareness for generations.

I'm really glad you're helping to bring attention to this but damn... This is the saddest thing I've seen or heard in quite awhile and with the state of the world that's sayin ALOT... How sad that such a legendary virtuoso like Jason Becker has basicly been forgotten by the world to the extent that he has to sell off his prized posessions just for his family to survive. America REALLY needs to do BETTER taking care of people's health and the costs associated with them. There's no reason ANYONE should have to do things like this just to survive, disease or no disease... ALS is a crazy disease. The keyboardist Kris Moe had it, mixed with MS; the last time he performed was 1996; it took five years to even diagnose properly; ALS usually takes 2 to 3 years to complete it's arc. Kris passed in 2005. I hope someone with a willing heart and deep pockets buys the guitar to not play it...and give back to the family. The rest of us donate to a charity of your choice to lift up organizations in need ❤

Have the Becker's considered moving to Canada, where patients with CF don't pay hundreds of thousands of dollars per year for treatment? I'm sure they have looked into all options, but who could afford such medical bills?
