King Edward! He was a rock n roll composer. His song writing was awesome. All of the techniques were great but he was king of swing and rhythm. Great reaction and good analogy!

❤Just miss the man so much, it's like watching the scene of a crime and wondering how we can avoid it for another's plus twenty years. Thank you. Miss you, Eddie, our best friend forevermore.

I think hendrix's vibrato techniques used in machine gun and other songs are overlooked early shredding and to me are amazing

No doubt, and Hendrix straight up went for it live toward the end. I mean alternate picking licks. Listen to the bootlegs, people. EVH is my guy though. Love them both

Why was Eddie the greatest? I hate the term greatest with something as subjective as music... What set Eddie apart from everyone else.... All those guys, Vai, Satriani, Gilbert, Malmsteen, batio... They're playing was a reaction to this thing Eddie created, a completely new sound, a new style, a bucket load of new techniques and virtuosity. His ability to play a swing groove is unmatched... Listen to the song hang Em High....it sounds like straight 16th notes but when you slow it down its a swing groove, the musicality of his playing, the musicality of tapping... Tapping prior to Ed largely was as short bluesy or jazz phrases... Not like his harmonic musical moving passages, add in slapping as well. Great songs and riffs... We all love Paul Gilbert, Malmsteen and joe Satriani... But Edward wrote so much music that was radio friendly, that anyone could sing along to as well as epic piano music, bluesy swing, you name it, he even threw in chicken pickin occasionally, a new vocabulary of playing, Hendrix had this as well, Jeff Beck to an extent...they all made guitar speak in a way it hadn't before... Iommi, Clapton, Page, SRV... They were great at playing certain styles of music with a common established language... Finally... Edward the inventor... The guitar, the locking tremolo... enjoy fine tuning on your floyd... You can yhank Eddie not only for the floyd being common place but the fine tuners... Ed's responsible for that, the super strat, modding, custom parts, companies in general that do specialty pickups, hardware, etc... before Eddie all this modding, parts swapping wasn't really a thing the player did, maybe they'd have a builder make small changes, but building a guitar from scratch with taking pickups from other guitars, dipping them in wax, screwing them right to the body, changing potentiometers, locking tuner, and sll that ype modding, yep Edward... Multiple gain stage amplifiers... Yep that's Eddie as well, changing your wattage and voltage, Edward physically changed every aspect of the guitar and what it was played through... Not since Les Paul was one individual such a critical part in the evolution of the instrument.... There's Edward, and there's everyone else....

Okay there are a few. Jimmy, sadly gone too soon and Stevie is probably the best blue's guitarist ever but Eddie is the greatest Rock and Roll guitar player that's ever lived! I'm probably biased because I grew up with these guys in socal but Eddie was the best. RIP Eddie ❤

He said best Rock and Roll guitar player ever. Didn't say the best of everything

Boring video because you already saw it before the reaction and said what was coming next. Sorry my opinion.

Don't be sorry - this guy has no business doing reactions.

In my humble opinion EVH is without a shadow of a doubt an excellent guitarist and was perhaps the first to develop that sound and guitar techniques that gave rise to all the guitarists of the 80s, even if one could consider himself Brian May before him. But I have to say, and it is also a fact that unfortunately Eddie was, despite his skill, one of the poorest guitarists in history, he built a 40-year career with only 4 solos, even if performed with different approaches, in all his performances focus only on those, a guitarist who is not very prolific and with little spirit of improvisation, furthermore he has never produced a solo album and it's really a shame, he left me wanting as a guitarist, I wished he would do something in more in addition to the albums with Van Halen and live I would have expected more instead he should really be remembered for his Eruption and nothing more, but in addition to this he has enjoyed enormous advertising fame in all these years, the mainstream has been from his he always sets out in search of being able to replace Jimi Hendrix but they didn't succeed.
