Thank you Eddie. Love you and Pearl Jam. You have so much class to do this tribute. I've loved David Bowie ever since I was a kid, and I miss him greatly.
feel like such a girly-fan to say this, but I have to acknowledge that I get like that when EV dances ... its equally amazing to the passionate 'screaming' & eye rolling.
I am not one to leave negative comments, but there is a first time for everything... This song was not meant for Ben Harper to sing. With the exception from 0:41- 0:57, 1:46 - 1:53, and 2:12 - 2:30, he sounded "off". I'll be nice and leave it at that. I'm not comparing him to Freddy Mercury. There are notes you need to hit. He didn't. He did slay the over all performance, the intention, but just not vocally. Eddie, on the other hand, IMHO, was far better. He's the reason I continued to listen. I really love this song, and expected this to be better. I watched several different videos of them performing this song, and this one was the Ben's best by far.
Yeah, but Eddie feeds off of others, so it made him sing better and Ben had his moments. They made magic. It doesn't have to be "note" perfect. : ) God bless Us. (But, if we're being REAL, then yeahhh, Ben's..." okay." But he does sing from the heart, so whatevs)
Couldn't agree more. I don't understand the fascination Eddie/PJ have the prick either. Makes me cringe everytime I'm unlucky enough to hear his voice.
