A Hollywood-style tribute to the great Carmen Cavallaro, whose piano interpretations were the 'hidden' star of the movie "The Eddy Duchin Story" starring Tyrone Power, Victoria Shaw and Kim Novak. "Manhattan", "You're My Everything", "Whispering" and "Shine On, Harvest Moon" are here woven into a gracious and faithfully-stylized medley capturing the musical spirit of a bygone age, by Jon England - the Stateside Englishman offering the world a 'today' interpretation of outstanding and elegant pianistic showmanship.

I never thought anyone would be able to emulate the late great Carmen Cavallero. What a beautiful tribute. If I didn't see this I would have thought it was Carmen himself. To me Carmen was the greatest pop piano stylist of all time!

I feel similarly about Carmen Cavallaro - a greatly under-appreciated maestro with incredibly piano-expressive gifts. To even be mentioned in the same sentence is a sincere honour, thank you Roy.

The only other pianist that I can think of that had a very distinct style would have to be the late Floyd Cramer. But then just about every country pianist imitates him to this day! I guess that imitation is in itself a tribute! I should mention that Cavallaro and Cramer are two of my very favorite pianist!

I did meet Peter - he and the orchestra were performing on board the legendary QE2 cruise liner in the late 1990s and I was fortunate to play with them! 'Great privilege to be connected in such a way.

My father was a waiter at the Copacabana Palace and became a friend of Mr Duchin. So the picture has a personal appeal to me. He used to serve Eddy a double whiskey to start the day, but our idol was always perfectly sober.

I've always loved the movie 'Eddie Duchin Story, so any piano melodies on that movie is nostalgic, whoever plays it is always good especially th versions of carmen caballero, and charlie shafer, i have all collections

I could never figure out why Carmen Cavallaro never got his due! He indeed was the best ever for that beautiful style!! Jon, you do a phenomenal job of recreating the master!! He would be proud of you!!

It could have been his ethnicity, his communication skills (with audiences) or lack of them, his courage/demeanor on stage - perhaps he was 'musician' first and 'performer' second. My Dad had bought one of his very best albums and I was transfixed by it's stylistic and executional brrilliance!

In 1945, at the high school I was attending, Carmen Cavallero was voted the school's favorite orchestra.

No surprise there - the orchestral features in "The Eddy Duchin Story" are superb with Tyrone Power ghosting Carmen's remarkable fluidity, precision and grace.

That is one of my own personal favorites - I 'borrowed' the styling of the arrangement from Carmen Cavallaro's "Dancing In The Dark" LP to which I listened endlessly as a younger man, while learning my craft. Simply impossible to match.

I have just discovered you today because I´m doing a researching about light music in UK from Wally Stott, Clive Richardson, Robert Farnon up to John Wilson and David Charles Abell. I¨m 25 years old but I´m in love with Cavallaro¨s style. I was a fan of cavallaro since my teen years (1950's)..I was able to see the "Eddie Duchin Story" who i belived was played by Tyronne Power and the piano parts by Cavallaro as i learned not long ago. I love "manhattan" and my favorite was the spectacular "Brazil".. . Terrific piano you play , sir , and thanks for the video...grettings from P.R. ..🇵🇷

First time I heard you playing. I bought all your cd and your only DVD Royally Entertained many year's ago. Also, you signed some of the cd and the DVD. Till this day, I am still playing on my player and amplifier sound system. Thank you for the music.
