They were kind of opposites though. Rigby was unimaginably lazy and didn't want to do anything except play video games. Eddy was an entrepreneur and a showman. Far from lazy, his problem was he was far too ambitious and would throw out any crazy idea that would make him money, no matter how ludicris.
Yeah, a basketball sized jawbreaker. I do remember there were jawbreakers made to look like these during the height of the shows popularity, but they were baseball sized.
I have been where Eddy is. I am Eddy , fact but despite my elders lifting no finger to help me with the bullying that happened to me despite me crying about it, the punch in the jaw my aunt gave me when I was 14, and the sheer bullying at school, I still treated people nice. I said before after I saw big picture show back in 09 and I’ll say it again: being ignored or abused is no excuse to be a Dick to others. I have been in eddy’s shoes but I acting like a manipulative asshole is no excuse.
I'm not mocking you for what happened but if my auntie punched me in the jaw when I was 14 she'd be picking her teeth up from the ground after I knock her into it
Eddy was a jerk, but deep down he had a heart and loved his friends. Should have mentioned one of my favorite Eddy moments when Double D was being abused and Eddy ran over and put to stop to it, yelling, "HE'S HAD ENOUGH ALREADY!!"
Thank you for mentioning that. Every time people critique Eddy, they bring up all the times he was a jerk but never acknowledge the good moments he has. Kind of reminds me of another cartoon, the Loud House. People are so quick to critique and judge the Loud Sisters while turning a blind eye to anything good they do. Some people just seem to like having someone to hate.
@@matthewcrispinwordofGodyeah they may be jerks, they still care about their little brother and each other, and Lincoln made plenty of mistakes as well but he doesn’t go too out of character
"This man is an egotistical pig with no respect for human decency. Get him on TV." -The creators creating Eddy (I'm not sure if the citation is correct, so I put this here to make it clear it's a reference to that scene from gravity falls)
Eddy became worse character wise as the seasons went by, the 5th one being the peak of him being obnoxious and loud mouthed while bringing down Double D and Ed who were, at that point, way better off without him. Even the specials had no redeeming qualities so thank goodness for his only official development in the big picture show.
it's sad because Eddy use to be a good character and friend but Danny had to step down because he was busy which caused cartoon network to take control and this is the result
yeah there is a noticeable difference with the Eds from season 1 to the other seasons, Eddy was a respected "boss" of the group that didn't look to be accepted, but was content usually being feared by the cul de sac kids, but somewhere in season 2 that changed to him looking for attention
Eddy got his redemption in the series finale. As all the brothers did. Eddy finally admitted to basically everything being said about him in thie video and how he shouldn't really have any friends at all. Eddy was misunderstood and wanted to impress his older brother whom everyone in the neighborhood respected .
@@buincqv67 I know but the movie was done to fix the damage caused by cartoon network I'm not saying the movie was bad I just mean it was good because it was made by Danny and not cartoon network
I really don't care for Sarah. For various obvious reasons. But that had to be one of the only times one of her beat downs were justified. Yeah, Pre movie Eddy is really kind of an unapologetic ass.
I noticed later on in the series thar Double D was becoming some what friends wirh the other cul-de-sac kids they were inviting him more to hang out with them cause they saw him for what he was kind and considerate and humble while eddy so a selfish jerk and Ed is just dumb the kids respected Double d at least in my opinion
Eddy is a bully, so much so that he gives Kevin a run for his money. This is however, intentional. Eddy, like Kevin, Sarah, and the Kanker sisters, was created for the sake of audiences hating him, but the opposite effect happened.
Eddy was the jerk out of the Ed boys. He's a con artist, master manipulator and a straight up liar claiming he looks up to his older brother until it's revealed that his older brother is an absolute monster and Eddy had to build facade not only infront of his true friends but also the rest of the kids.
I was about to say, captain melonhead had it coming.. Nice Vid! Edit: I always kind of viewed Eddy as the sort of person to care deep down about Ed and double D. I can't think of any instances where when he actually accomplished his goal that Ed and double D didn't also get to enjoy some benefit. Idk how well my memory is performing here though.
I've started noticing Eddy as a horrible friend when I reached teen hood. One of the many episodes I've re-watched and thought of how Edd should've ended his friendship with him. Especially with the episode "A case of Ed" of how Eddy said to Edd that he was EXPIRING and places a 'Kick Me' sign on his back. The episode sucks from the beginning, but it was redeemed in the end though when Kevin pummels both Ed and Eddy. Which was pretty satisfying.
I dont usually leave comments or like videos, but, you have a unique presentation style. It's booth soothing yet attention-grabbing. These videos are well made, have a smooth flow, and are entertaining. May the algorithm continue blessing you, as it did with the Regular Show video.
To avoid; exaggerating Eddy is morally grey. While, I do agree he DOESN’T change in a more positive way. Compared to Ed & Double D. One of the few times he was nice was towards his brother. Even, that the elder sibling WASN’T the best influence for him.
honestly at the end of the episode, the kids weren't whacking on Eddy because they hated him, at least not in that instance. with double d literally being the one to offer the scam to them, they most probably thought Eddy was willingly going along with it. except for Kevin, who doesn't care which Ed he's whacking really and just finds it fun. but it looked like for the others it was just a fun game and don't really care too much about why he's there. only Sarah/ the Eds know that justice was being made for once lmao
Honestly I enjoy scumbag characters to an extent because in many instances they always get what's coming to them. It's why I like characters like Gumball and Rigby, but I feel it's necessary to have a certain balance between their scuminess and them trying to be decent people.
I personally think Eddy became the person he was because he looked up to his older brother. We already know the kind of person his older brother was, a monster that even Eddy couldn't match so thus he likely garnered the same vibe to give horrible treatment towards others. That and Danny stepping down kind of game the creators too much liberty, thus turning the man into a scumbag past seasons 1.
The big picture show really did save eddy as a character. Although i dont think ed shouldve been helping Eddy. Cause really Ed didnt care but a guy like Edd could probably only handle so much before he would up and leave eddy and its even more sad when you realize edd has been multiple times invited to just leave ed and eddy. And yet he doesnt.
The episode i didnt like him on was when he was getting picked on for his middle name, but then when finding out about double Ds middle name proceeds to make all the kids humiliate him after he just had it happen to him
As much of a jerk as Eddy was, I have to wonder...what was Edd thinking? He saw the lengths Eddy was willing to go to for jawbreakers, for starters. Plus, while Eddy did spend her money, I'd argue he's not the one who got them into the situation. Edd was the one who offered to pay Sarah back and added interest to it, not Eddy. So, Edd put Eddy in a situation where he'd have to pay money, and expected to come out of it without some kind of revenge? Sorry Edd, but your stupidity has eclipsed Ed's.
Still to this day, I still don't understand why they even hung out with Eddy. I mean Ed was too dumb for his own good but Double-D should have known better.
I hated this show even as a kid, mostly because all of them seemed like terrible people in some fashion. Double D was the one with the most potential imo but he had no spine and that annoyed me. I hated this to the point that when at the local pizza place I would leave the cartoon room as a kid and go to the sports theater if this came on.
