What’s even better, these are both very stable, I fly fish from my sandpiper 130 and it works great for that, you don’t really need tons of gear either. I just bring one plastic box that seals really well and you can paddle long distances very fast even into the wind, and just carry your rod with reel resting between your legs or on the front bungees. People look at me funny as to why I don’t use a fishing kayak, at 49 lbs and super fast and stable, the sandpiper 130 has proven to me that I do not need one.

are a catch and release OR do you keep your catch? if you keep, where do you put it the catch at?

@@jeromehebert3184 I am catch and release most of the time. The occasional times I keep, I just use a stringer tied onto the safety lines of the kayak. I really like the metal clip stringers better than the cord kind, but they both work fine. But most of the time when I keep fish, I am in one of my other fishing craft - for fly fishing, I like my Fish Cat (made by Outcast Boats, with 9 ft inflatable pontoons, a frame chair in the center, an apron hanging in the water for fly line management, and operated with wooden oars). The Sandpiper comes in handy for fly fishing because I can paddle it a lot faster than I can row my Fish Cat, so if I have to travel a further distance to fish, the kayak gets me there faster.

Nice review. I have heard these are great boats. Currently I paddle a Pungo 120. Thinking about upgrading. We mainly run rivers and that means bouncing off of bottoms and rock. My Pungo is pretty tough. How tough is the Sandpiper?

I love these kayaks, I don't know if I could get one in the UK though.
