This is footage from my three sliders, Edelkrone SliderONE PRO v2 + SliderONE v2 + Rhino Rov Pro. IS IT SMOOTH? I've had lots of questions about jitters, macro shots and if these sliders are smooth or not? Watch the footage and decide for yourself. 10% OFF - PHILLIPSKRABA
THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED FILM!
SliderONE PRO v2 + SliderONE v2 + Rhino Rov Pro are all great sliders, and as with every slider out there, using a heavy long lens, especially a macro lens will enhance ANY shake, so it's only normal there is a tiny bit there, especially when using macro or telephoto lenses. If I see any shake I just stabilise it in post production. It's that simple.
Do all you can to keep the camera steady, a good tripod, no movements across wooden floors, stable slider feet, etc. Try not to use front heavy lenses, this stresses out the motors and makes the slider unstable. Try to use heads such as the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head 2, which really helps keep the centre of gravity in the middle, this will help with more stable shots.
If you have any questions at all these camera sliders, post them below in the comments and I'll make sure I get back to you.

Interesting. Thanks for the comparison. I have been using the SliderONE v2 and the HeadONE for over a year. Initial problems were solved by firmware updates and a replacement of the HeadONE. Since then I have been very satisfied. I mostly use the devices for timelapse recordings.
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 4 года назад
Yes, the firmware updates do a LOT! Ever since I bought the Rhino Rov Pro there has not been even 1 update, that thing just sits in my cupboard and gathers dust! Whilst Edelkrone rolls in the updates all the time, that is something I love them for, they are always on top of their game making things better for us! These guys are amazing for time-lapses, I love that too!

@@PhillipSkraba - Im being really honest here, its hard to find non-promoted videos for Edelkrone products. Im mostly interested in HeadOne but this made me think the jitter issues are possibly oveblown. Maybe do a video on that if you have one?
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 4 года назад
@@bobbleczar That is true, most of the videos I watched were all promoted. So I thought I'd go out there and say it how it really is. Watching most of the promoted JibONE shots I thought twice about buying it as it looked really jittery. In reference to the HeadONE, it's excellent, as long as you're using it in a horizontal position. Vertical will give you a headache I'm afraid, of course depending on what lens you use.
@bobbleczar
@bobbleczar 4 года назад
@@PhillipSkraba That stinks. I liked the barrel roll style shots for timelapse i'd seen but again those were all promotional. Honestly Ive almost never done timelapse (even on a tripod) without some stabilization, so maybe its just an unrealistic expectation of edelkrone to have absolutely zero jitter.
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 4 года назад
@@bobbleczar I think it might be unrealistic. I've used the Rhinos too, they have the same problem, if not more. I really like Edelkrone, and if I have to drop a touch of stabilization to get a perfect end result, it's not the end of the world.
@PlayedWith

Wow, wish mine worked this smooth. Even doing timelapses, all mine does is shake and shake and shake. Even the HeadPLUS does it. It's amazing you can use it at 100% speed without any shake and Edelkrone told me not to use it at 100% because it would introduce too much shake. Probably time to return all of the systems and pick up the RHINO instead.
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 4 года назад
Well, that's really odd. I've used a few of these v2 base models and v2 PRO models and they are all smooth, the HeadPLUS is super smooth, and I've used about 4 different ones. Of course if I use a really long lens, and it's tipping the balance of the HeadONE it might get some tiny jitters when it starts and stops, but nothing I can't smooth out perfectly in post. I use 100% a lot of the time, and I have no problems. It all really depends on your setup, where you've set it up, your speed and your ramp. If you've set it up on a cheap plastic tripod then it's going to shake like crazy, if you've set it up on a wooden floor that helps vibrations travel through the tripod, it will shake, if you have a super heavy 24-70GM lens on there, it will probably have some jitters. So make sure you keep that in mind. I'm not sponsored by them and I don't have anything from promoting them, and I also own Rhino sliders, so I'm being honest here. IF those tips don't work for you, if you're on a sturdy Manfrotto tripod, if you're on a cement floor, if you have a smaller lens, then this system should be smooth as balls. If it's not, write to them, ask them if you can send it in so they can check it out and maybe tighten a screw or swap a belt out or something. Rhino. Well, they have beautifully made sliders just like Edelkrone, they also have jitters, but if I had to put my trust in one of these companies it would be Edelkrone hands down. Choosing Rhino over Edelkrone really is a "grass is greener on the other side" type of deal, add yourself to their Facebook group page and you'll see. It's just problem after problem. So I say stick with Edelkrone, ask them to take a look at your slider and head, and remember Edelkrone is modular, you can keep on building it like Lego, I've done this and have a ton of their products I'm super impressed with.

@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 3 года назад
Oh yes, as long as you use foreground in your shots you'll get a ton of movement, if not you won't even see it's moving, but that goes for most sliders. If you check out this film I shot a lot of the moving shots with the SliderONE v2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yhzqm3J4x8o.html As you can see, with lots of foreground you can get some really nice motion in your shots. Hope that helps.

No problem! I think it's so delicate that no one would really notice it, unless they are actively searching for it. Adding some light stabilisation in post would get rid of that no problem. The v2 PRO is the winner for me when it comes to performance. I've tried a lot of other sliders, and I've got to tell you, these micro jitters are pretty normal, especially at these kind of speeds. I usually throw all my slider/gimbal footage in to the stabiliser just to give it that extra little bit more butter. I can also blame the head I'm using a little, as it is from Neewer and it doesn't screw on firmly, I'll pick up the FlexTILT v2 soon and hopefully that will help iron out the rest of the jitters. Thanks for stopping by!

good video, hey so many complain about jitters etc, im looking to buy sliderone v2 or pro version, but with my gear, v2 should be ok, do i need to get the pro version, worth the overkill,? will this help to avoid any futer jitters
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 3 года назад
Thank You! Yes, some people complain, but I have used quite a few others sliders where people complain too I'm afraid. Most of the time it is user error - too long a lens, unbalanced head, no flat base, wooden flooring, too much speed with no ramp on macro shots. So many things go into it. I would recommend the V2 Pro, that's what I use the most, and it's super smooth because it pulls and pushes at the same time. I use the Sony A7 series on it. 99% of any jitters that ever happen on a slider can be sorted out in post though, so don't worry about that if it happens.
@jeffvodas3
@jeffvodas3 3 года назад
@@PhillipSkraba ah thanks for your VM quick reply, Yes true any jitter can be smoothened out later , I contacted edelkrone and they said the same thing. They said the slider one v2,should be smooth and is cheaper I guess .. But I’ve also seen a video we’re someone said he was told by edelkrone to get the pro version. So last question, sorry to be a pain So u so think the pro version is much smoother Regardless of the camera gear : because it has 2 motors ? And the v2 has just 1 motor and might struggle even if load is just 2 kg, Basically in a senario whereby u using a 2 kg kit . On either of them in comparison, Will the smoothness be the same ? Am just trying to see if it’s because of load or the pro version performance justifies me getting it even if am going to use a lower weight camera gear on it
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 3 года назад
@@jeffvodas3 I've used both versions a lot, and I don't have the standard V2 version anymore, I now only own the V2 Pro which I bought after using the standard V2. I find the fact that it pulls and pushes at the same time a much smoother operation, especially when you put a HeadONE on it for example. The V2 either pushes or pulls, so straight away it's a completely different kettle of fish. I'm very happy with the V2 Pro and would highly recommend it to anyone. The HeadONE is also great, but both need to be balanced well on a tripod and they do struggle with 24-70GM for example, which is a heavy lens and quite long, but once again, nothing that can't be smoothed out. What I recommend you do is wait till Black Friday, they always have pretty good sales then, and you'll probably pick it up for the price of the V2 standard. Just a thought.

Add that to the Black Friday deals and you'll buy that package for an incredible price! I have rhino pro and the eco and I want to trade in everything to switch to Edelkrone but I saw a video that it has some jitter problems, I can't see a huge difference. The only problem I see with this slider one is the speed, very slow. Have you tried the slider plus?
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 4 года назад
Hi Jose! Well, I have to be honest, I still have to try a slider that has zero jitter problems. It's usually down to user error though more than the gear. I'm very happy with my Edelkrone gear, I own the JibONE, SliderONE v2 PRO and SliderPLUS PRO Long. If I set them up wrongly, if I use too long a lens, they might have tiny jitters, but if I set them up like a pro, they are smooth as butter. The SliderPLUS is very smooth, as is the SliderONE. If you want to go with the SliderONE go with the v2, the dual motors help with any jitters as they push and pull, not just pull or push. The HeadONE usually helps with jitters if you're using a big heavy lens, so the HeadPLUS is needed if you have really heavy gear, I use both and like I said, if set up correctly, they are smooth as butter. However, if there is jitter, 99.9% of the time I can fix it in post with no problems at all. I hope that helps, any other questions, just ask, I'm happy to help.

Phillip Skraba thank you Phil, really appreciate your answer, that's what I thought, user error. Do you find the speed of the sliderone fast enough for most situations? I use Nikon mirror less, can I get away with the 2 headone units?
@PhillipSkraba
@PhillipSkraba 4 года назад
Yes, I find it’s more than fast enough, plus if you need it to be slow for macro, there is no slower slider out there, it literally almost doesn’t move, incredible stuff. Two heads and the tilt kit are cool, I have that too and use it on my Sony. As long as it’s balanced it’ll do a great job. It's a great slider, and the fastest of them all, but I wouldn't say it's the best. The app lacks options to create poses and stop it half way for example. The start and stop of the Rhino is also very harsh, compared to the Edelkrone where you almost don't even notice the start or stop. The Edelkrone is also amazing when it comes to macro as it has programmable stops and can slide very slowly. What do you like about the Rhino Rov Pro that makes you feel it's the best?
