My Mother lives at St. Paul's in Greenville, PA. This community is an Eden Alternative member and it is wonderful for the residents and for the families to see so many activities - animals, pets, children, music, art, etc. Makes it not just a Senior Residence but their new homes. Thank you for your vision.

What a great concept to keep elderly still involved in life, loving (unconditional), companionship. It's wonderful to value the sanctity of life and it's wonders no matter your age. What a fabulous vision!

It is just a wonderful vision, we all had hoped it to be, never applied.

It can require more work, more upkeep on the part of staff. I tried to start a kitchen garden where I work - just to see how it would go before I added flowers and such - and residents were throwing cigarettes butts all over and one of the kitchen staff dug up my mint plant and took the entire thing home (without asking). The pets in one place I worked at were mostly ignored - brought in only once a week and there were no safe areas outside for residents to sit with them. At another nursing home I applied at, an elderly man fed a bunch of cats, but when he tripped over one of them and hurt hmself, the administrator had the cats trapped and sent to the pound. I ended up taking a trapped kitchen home. That elderly man must have been broken-hearted.

I'm stunned that this is revolutionary. Something so obvious and beautiful. Fantastic.

As a long year "Eden-user" working as nursing director in a nursing from near Zurich in Switzerland I can only confirm everything that is said in the film.

Seniors still need to live life, not just wait to die in a place that clinically supplies all their physical needs. Here in So Cal there are a few places that share Eden's philosophy of whole person care, but sadly, their few and far between. I love helping seniors find real care by dedicated real people. I hope more providers begin to adopt such a new vision of care.

At one nursing home I worked at, the dog was't properly socialized though it came there as a pup. The cat was eventually hurt and I suspect an employee there. A few employees hated cats and one or two hated any animals - including the dog. The dog wanted to eat the cat. I ended up taking the cat home after it had to have surgery (I suspect the maintenance guy of hurting him or even throwing him in the fence with the dog) and the cat eventually died 2 months later at my house of some kind of internal damage that the vet could never figure out. My point is to be careful where you keep the pets and if you don't have them as a real part of the nursing home where they get attention a few hours a day, JUST DON'T GET THEM!!

The only thing revlutionary is if its actually ever genuinely applied, the issues are far vast then what you proclaim to solve, further, 90% of these so-called Care-Workers, care about 1 thing= their unearned paycheck. Become a secret resident for 1 month, then tell the same BS> How much $ are you all making off this anyhow?

Be afraid, do your research, the grass is NEVER greener!

While it is true that most workers only care about their paycheck, there is no way to force people to care. For people saying the word **should** , let them work those caring positions for low pay, constant frustration, body fluid/ick, and where they hurt their backs often. No one is stopping caring people from working these jobs. It is human nature that is the real problem.
