Though the libretto of this opera leaves something to be desired, the music is still breathtaking; this is a wonderful rendition, created by a very skilled, expressive singer and a very fine orchestra...

I have never felt chills like that from someone singing classically, and I am a Vocal Performer myself. That was purely beautiful.

While the Italian needs a little more attention, I think you sold this well. It is so beautiful and not many of today's leading Baritones record this, soooo the interpretation is all yours and isn't tainted by what we deem artistry when a more seasoned singer does it. . . pay mindful attention to where stress lies in the body. . . you are beautiful guy with a beautiful voice. . . . Glad to know you don't simply rely on those to skills alone! Well done!

Russian classical singers are amazing

Excellent singer. Very well trained. The larynx goes up a little on the top note and the sound is still brilliant and exciting. I see he’s already having a fine career and has moved to the States when Belarus elected a Putin puppet. Bravo to this fellow on all accounts.

@VitorPhilomeno Well stated - some of these "experts" wouldn't even recognize a tenor from a BASSO! This man is pure baritone!

Funny how people think just because a baritone has a good F natural, someone might be tenor. He is a wonderful high baritone , BASTA

fantastic sound, but his italian needs a lot of work. most of those waords were wrong or you couldn't understand them. but as i said, what a bloody good sound.

What happened to the end L'amo! There was a whole bar of rest for another L'amo!

@omarihardy I never said the difference is purely timbral! A lot depend on the passage note of the voice. but timber is a very good indicator.

i forgot to mention something... your [a] vowel changes frequently. sometimes its a nice vowel. other times it goes to more of an "uh" [^] sound. other times it goes to a very very bright german "ah" as in "hallo". so work on letting all the notes come from the same vowel column if that makes any sense.

Wow the comments people make about voice part after hearing someone once. He could very well be a baritone with enough smarts to apply amazing musicianship and smart vocal choices to sing this aria. I didn't realize everyone in here was a pedagogue and international stars. I probably ought to be careful. I find the comments from the 18 year old funny. sigh.

@caruso81: When I sang as baritone I SANG opened F's. And I'm NO tenor, believe you me. I had lessons with great teachers both american and european, even Teresa Berganza, and no remark on "having" to cover F's were mentioned. I mostly coach and sing countertenor now

He's young. The voice is fresh. I hear NOTHING tenory about it, simply a high lovely light and bright baritone..or do we ALL forget about young Thomas Hampson and his high C's? Yes, he commits some flaws, but Alagna, Callas, Pavarotti, Fleming, all of them did. Can some stop being the owners of the absolute truth and just give a break? Everyone here is an expert..funny, I don't see most of the people who comment here on international stages or winning competitions.

Oh my God... now singers must LOOK like their voices... so Garanca resembles NOTHING like a mezzo and has a wonderful high C..so she's a soprano..according to on of the posts down here.. my God.. people, please try to read a little, sing a little, instead of being just "cd owner's" and "audience" experts and just enjoy this man's beautiful rendition of the aria. My God.. I can't beliece some of the stuff you read on this site by the so called "opera experts".

@VitorPhilomeno I would like to agree with you but he sings all e and even f notes opened, and that is not the way baritone handle tesitura... He is good an musical... but... those open notes are tenor notes... But music is nice and he is ok.

He is beautiful and his voice is beautiful,he is not a tenor,he sang a lot of high notes very open,and at least 3 places said wrong words.(my personaly idees)

My god, when i read all the comments, I believe the audience is becoming dumber and dumber. His timber is clearly baritone, there's even not the shadow of a doubt about it, his pronunciation is good also, it's normal his vowel sometimes varies, because you don't sing an "A" (for example) the same way on a low "do" than you sing it on a high "fa". As we raise the soft palate, creating space in the back of the mouth for resonance. Pronunciation change a bit , but it allows the sound to stay equal.

i love the voice, but i do agree it sounds tenory (i get that a lot too). unfortunately this song doesn't have much low so you don't get to show a bari timbre. its very high tessitura so i understand the comments. the mis-sung climactic line i can't forgive though ;)
