@@williamtimoty337 you’re music is garbage compared to this so idk quite what your point is. also youll be the age one day so ageism doesn’t really workout without being a straight hypocrite.
@@altqq1755 wut? Thts just a joke. Are u crazy anggry dick head? never say the 70s is a bad music. I also love the 70s rock! Wat wrong with u man. u are verry offensive
This was a Jr High song for me. I was born almost right in 59.... Got to listen to the greatest music ever released. My Brother was born in 53 and that helped :)
TheStevenAyers we share the exact same story only I’m a girl! I was always playing my big brothers 8 tracks and getting into his stuff. I have to admit he was pretty patient with me. Taught me alot about music. Thanks for your comment and I hope my message finds you and yours well and greetings from Illinois!
Todays music just don’t have that soul but this has captured my heart and soul . Where the real music not the crap you get today . You can actually here the words feel that base. I could go on and on .
I boxed a little in college during the early 70s . I had a cheap cassette recorder and headphones and this was what I listened to before my time came to answer the bell. Another fight-psych song was Lou Reed's Rock and Roll. Great memories and still gets the heart pumping and adrenalin pumping.
I hear shades of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I guarantee you Lenny heard this growing up. I think Kravitz is a worthy torch bearer for younger generations. Edgar still rocks as hard as he did 50 years ago.
Well...a free ride costs lots f money...There never was such a thing as a free ride...Except hitchiking which is very dangrous!!! LOVE THIS SONG...BRINGS BACK WONDERFUL MEMORIES FOR ME....
we did a version of this song back in the day and our keyboard player had an ARP 2600 like Edgar used in the original...surprised that he still wasn't using one here. Nothing short of amazing that he still has the vocal chops to pull off tunes like this.
Ok. Yea. It looks like we're all wondering the same thing - "Live? Well yea sure, but doesn't that usually mean there is an audience?" Haha! I found this video while looking for the lyrics because this song came back to me while I was meditating in Jesus and I sensed the Holy Spirit telling me that God loves us so much that He gave us a "free ride" to His Kingdom through Christ.
@Edgar Winter Is this really Edgar Winter? Because that would be so cool! I wasnt old enough to see you in concert in the 70s and my sisters got to go! Ps. Did you know they hit you and Johnny with a car on the Simpsons? 😂
I do realize this song wouldn't exist without him... and with out Edgar there it would be only a cover band. BUT I don't think it would sound any different if he hadn't shown up .
When i was in elementary school the middle school i would be going to sent the band to do a concert in hopes of getting us interested in joining and they did this song.
I admire the way he (Dan Hartman) keeps performing despite the lack of response. He give it his all despite the lack of response or lack of an audience. I admire that.
