Welcome back and hello new subbies! In this video I'll be demonstrating how I apply Creme of Nature Perfect Edges and Hick's Total Transformation Edges. I'll also discuss WHY YOUR EDGES WON'T LAY DOWN. I get a lot of questions about the products I use and how I do it so I decided to create a video focusing on edge control!

I got 4c hair and my edges will be layed for 5 minutes then they would melt out? What gel is recommended for this?

Tabby U The same thing happens to me, I think it’s bc your probably using conditioner gel. Try to stay away from gels like Let’s Jam & Shine Jam. Them both just melt away after a few seconds.

Tabby U Hi! My apologies for the late response!! Make sure you don’t have any other oils or creamy products on your edges before applying. Ebin and Style Factor Edge Booster are great options to try!! Just be sure to tie down with a scarf after. You can even spray a little holding spray on it after!

You can try foam (like setting lotion) wrap it and sit under dryer too.

I use got to be glue spiking gel(waterproof) and I lay it down with a cotton bonnet(if you don’t live in a humid environment the cotton isn’t necessary)

I don’t understand why so many black women with damaged edges insist on continuing to lay them and slick them back into a ponytail. All that tension is causing your hair to thin and fall out permanently.

appreciate the honesty. I'm a sweater from way back and nothing works all day and I'm not shallow enough to care about reapplying at work! so it's always a frizzed mess b4 noon no matter the weather!

Hicks dont work for my edges... or got2b glued or creme of nature or pro style black gel or gorrila snot , ive tried them all on clean edges and they all just do me wronggg

Maybe you should dampen it with a little water first. I find that doing that softens my edges and it responds to the cream of nature much better. I don’t leave them wet but I apply just enough water to soften. If that works then apply a gel that holds after like eco or wetline. I prefer wetline. It’s super thick and doesn’t flake

I 4c hair but now I’m using eco gel the green one and I recommend it but yet it gonna make u hair flakey so have a gel that olive and make ur edges smooth and slick 👏🏾😌 trust me

I use gorrila snot/ Ebin 24hr but may need to use the hicks...my hair so challenging to keep these edges down. I will try your method and tell ya how it goes!!!

Easy to lay down but very difficult to keep it down! Have you tried using holding spray? After applying your edge control tie down with a scarf for about 10min then spray a holding spray like Got 2B Freeze Spray.
