Sorry, I don't review FrSky gear any longer. They've made some commercial decisions with which I disagree, so I'll not use this platform to enable/support them.

Id like to repurpose some of those function buttons to the left of the screen. I never use them. The touchscreen made them obsolete.

That would be cool, but they're not addressable in software right now--although--they are visible in the hardware page. Maybe a github suggestion to ask for the ability to remap keys.

This looks like something I could do with the stock momentary switch already setup for timer reset, and perhaps add the instant trim function to it. But I am still on latest version of OpenTX. Will this only work with EdgeTx? Thx!

2 questions, which one do you like better Edgetx or Opentx? Gimbal , is the HAL v4 good enough or should I just go for the CNC ones?

For all practical purposes, OTX is dead. Last update was April 2022. EdgeTX is the obvious choice. v4's are good. AG01's are good. You won't go wrong with either.
