von Karma definitely has daddy issues. For several reasons. One, he's from a rich, ancient European aristocratic family. There's certainly tons of generational trauma there. He also just gives me vibes of abuse-begetting-abuse. Two, he was born in the 1950s, when abusing children was the normal thing to do. Encouraged, even. Three, I dunno how much the AA timeline diverges from the IRL one, but it's possible that the second world war still happened, and considering his dad would have been a German man who was born likely in the early 20s or 30s... I, uh... don't think you need to be a genius to understand the implications of that.
