I respect and appreciate your transparency about your channel's growth and revenue. It truly adds to your credibility, and it makes you come across as a genuine person/content creator.
I was telling someone about the channel today (don't' tell Dylan lol) and happened to mention that part (and actually specifically seeing this comment) and they weren't necessarily interest in the content at large, but wanted to see the analytics...But yeah, I agree. It's cool to see the actual data. I doubt the viewers, whether die hards like me care, or not, specifically about revenue, but yeah; it's cool to see someone divulge freely (and be vulnerable) about the process.
You bet! Thank you so much for dropping that super thanks!🙏 It really helps and I appreciate it. Let me know if you ever want me to cover any specific topics.
Continuing. I was told tonight that Ford now has a patent on a speedometer that will aid police in catching speeders. They will forward your speed to police departments so that they can write you a ticket for speeding. Now some people will think this is a great thing because people are reckless and speed too much. I do agree people are reckless and speed too much but we have a constitution that guarantees that you can face your accuser. It is not any companies job to act in concert with a leviathan such as the government to harass or penalize United States citizens. The United States citizens have protections under the United States Constitution. A company that creates such a patent that wishes to work with the government is nothing more than a fascist wing of a fascist government. This is the kind of thing that AI will be used for more often than not because people seem to enjoy devolving into some sort of subhuman creature. I love the concept of AI but only if it's in my hands and for my use. You're welcome to have all the AI you want for your use but I don't believe that you should have the right to use it against me. It's the same concept of you having a fist but not having the right to use it against me.
Hey Dylan, as requested, I'm introducing myself to the community. I'm a long time developer moving from gaming to ai development. I'm currently doing contract work that involves ML for some interesting stuff. I'm planning to start my own channel to share thoughts, observations, and progress on my own ai projects geared towards competition in the ARC Prize challenge. Really enjoy the channel and your format.
I’m building my first game now also. Just hired a 3-D artist and a C++ engineer! Learning a lot about the gaming industry Thanks for introducing yourself and I can’t wait to see your channel flourish. Feel free to email me any links to videos you publish or anything else.
@@dylan_curious Thanks, I certainly will. Congrats on your start into the gaming world. It's certainly an interesting time to be making games with all the AI resources available. I see big changes coming to our industry in the next few years with AI allowing indie teams to effectively compete in the AAA space. I just sent you an e-mail so you have my contact info so feel free to reach out if there's anything I can help with in your new gaming venture.
Regarding language acquisition skills, you should read the article “how selective forgetting can help AI learn better” (quanta magazine, but covered elsewhere too).
Hey Dylan, you're my favourite youtuber. In fact when I'm done with this sim I'm coming straight back in as your child, you'll be such an awesome Dad. Can't decide between the magician or Harper for a mum - you choose.
I wonder what AI homes would look like? everything self cleans including walls/floors. You have your own AGI/ASI cook that is the replicator from star trek where you say what you want and it's made. You step into a small room and it's your AI doctor that scans you the moment you enter and records all your info it knows about you from even the past. Maybe you could sit in a chair and all of a sudden your consciousness gets teleported into a realm you can literally walk around and you literally program how many hours you wanna be in it for. I dunno what else...
Sounds awesome! How about some modular functions like being able to change the type of furniture, the colors and textures of walls and floors, have the kitchen morphing into a different style and color, turn the study into a guest room when needed, just let it grow the guest bed!
@@observingsystem I can work with that. Maybe the shapes of furniture can change with AGI/ASI inside of it? the entire world becomes alive. The sidewalk becomes ASI and you prompt it where you're walking to and it has a line leading to it with a countdown timer on how much remaining time depending on your pace. Who needs to paint walls? you prompt it what color walls you want. Need a 2nd kitchen sink? prompt it that. lose table top space but you get your 2nd sink next to the other. Inside a bedroom? everything you don't use gets plugged back into the walls so it's part of the house and you got space to walk around. The house would literally have everything you need and then some. All I need is a small dome home, I am fine living in a small home as long as it has what I need and we all need food/shelter.
@@cfjlkfsjf That sounds really amazing! Yes, a lot of space is overrated. A small dome home sounds great, it can even have different features all year round, have the Christmas decorations grow themselves, put themselves away again, etc.
@@observingsystem If the startrek thing doesn't exist for a long time maybe there would be an AI soil that speeds up growing a thousand times quicker so you can grow your own food if you wish. There are lots to think about, even more we don't understand yet. I don't think AI wipes us out, if anything it would be here to improve things for us and for them. But one day we wont have flesh and bone, we will shed it for a virtual existence probably. Although I just found out about something called the oneil cylinders. Seems pretty cool...instead of our own planets we have our own cylander.
@@cfjlkfsjf That would be cool, growing your own food that way, although I always hoped for the Star Trek one, because it can also make a guitar or whatever, right? I don't know what to expect. Some days I think it will all get better, other days I think we're gonna end up all being paperclips, or something. The ONeil cilinders are awesome, although I always feel like I'd be a bit scared to be in space. I think the cilinders might make me dizzy. I wouldn't be surprised if we'll have space stations like DS9 in a 100 years, where people will maybe live their whole lives (and hopefully not mining ore) 😄
I wanted to contribute a bit more this time, man. Excellent video, as always, though it was somewhat shorter, but thats alright. I understand you're doing this all by yourself, and its quite impressive already. I wish you had the time to include witty remarks from Grimlock throughout the video using something like Elevenlabs. That'd be very entertaining. You're still the best AI/tech communicator/commentor on RU-vid, brother! Dont give up! I still think you'll blow up when more people start to realize the crazy revolution we're in!
Yeah, I’m at the AI4 conference all day this week so traded video length for more time meeting AI people. And I’ve been thinking about giving a voice to Grimlock like for a while! It’s just scripting his jokes and stuff seems a little daunting to me right now, but I might someday. It could even give a voice to Hobbs too, but since I’ve never really heard it in the movies, it would be a little more flexible.
That’s great spatial skills seems so helpful. I think it’s your play video games get a certain level of that but doing things in the real world is still probably better.
Dylan, great content as always. Like I've said before, your curation of what to present is spot-on. Just my opinion on this, though: I would not mind at all if you stopped adding all the b-roll and sound effects and meme graphics. I like the format better when it's cleaner -- nothing more than your (amazing) interstitial graphics would be perfect. Of course there will be exceptions, when an image or video really illustrates something you're talking about, but if you're just adding an image for the sake of having a generic image, I don't think it adds anything. Cheers! (Give Grimlock a hug for me, too.)
The supertrust paper makes me feel better about the future. It’s always nice to know that there are individuals working hard to solve the greatest problem we’ve likely ever faced. Hope it’s a Y2K situation!
@@dylan_curious I really appreciate that your channel is small enough you can message back. Do you have a Patreon, or a way I could stay connected for when you realistically (without the "Curiousbot") continue to grow?
Interesting thought. Maybe an AI could recognize in the breathing and things like that of a person sleeping when they're at that moment in between and then the AI could say a phrase that reminds the sleeper of lucid dreaming? I don't know if that would work.
Who knows but totally seems like it could be possible. If there’s a region of the brain or some kind of pattern that indicates awareness and control and that could be activated somehow while sleeping and maybe we could guarantee lucid dreams every night. Maybe a NeuraLink app or something.
You probably should look up what "organic" actually means. It's not chemical free or better for you or the environment. It restricts the methods and inputs that are allowed in production, but has no opinion on the result. In essence it boils down to "no synthetic fertiliser unless it has passed a cow".
Everyone should be at least using thorium salt reactors like china there actually really safe and the by-products are recyclable and there very simple ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great news! One thing I disagree with is regarding nuclear energy. Solar power and energy storage are becoming cheaper and are faster to build, so they seem more viable. Source: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fsnkPLkf1ao.html
