In this video I will be unboxing the Edifier R1000T4 desktop speakers.
These are a very budget conscious studio speaker for content creation, video editing or even just listening to music at the best quality.
I bough these studio style speakers for $68 AUD on sale from MSY, they represent fantastic value at this price and pack a punch to mach!

how are these holding up dude? thinking of ordering them for delivery tomorrow.. i need the bass to be decent enough, i know it wont be crazy like a woofer but yeah :)

They’re still going strong, not a single issue so far. With the bass, you can turn it up to the desired level. For the size of the units they do produce a clean bass response even at the max setting on the bass knob at the rear of the driver speaker. I still definitely recommend these speakers wholeheartedly, they’re awesome little units!

Sorry sir if my question is a bit presumptuous, why did you choose the R1000T4 series compared to the R1280dB/T? The actual price difference is probably not that big (In my country the difference is not that significant.)

Hey mate, the main reason I chose the R1000T4 over any of the other Edifier speakers is down to the price and availability, and I didn't want the Bluetooth feature as I have no use for it. The price of the R1280DB is roughly double the price of the R1000T4 in my country, so that was a factor in my decision to buy the R1000T4. I hope this was helpful!

R1280 also have the unneeded RC and the unattractive controls on the side .

I also have a R1000T4. They look gorgeous, and sound great for the price. But, in any case, do you ever feel the need to equalize this speaker? I had the impression that they were lack something, but I couldn't pinpoint the exact area-I guessed it was somewhere in the mid-region(?).

In the time that I’ve had these speakers, I haven’t felt the need to change anything about the sound that they produce, however I did go into the settings in Windows 11 and switch off any sort of signal enhancements or sound improvements that windows 11 automatically enables from default. I also change the format of the audio on my sound card to 24 bit at 192,000 Hz. I found that doing this gave me the clearest sound I could achieve, however sound is quite subjective, and what sounds good for one person may not sound good for another. Another thing that can affect the perceived sound from the speakers is the room that they are in and if there are any reverberations or deflections in the room or perhaps even things in the room that can absorb a certain frequency, audio engineering is quite a complex thing, however I’m no expert in this field.

@@cwqmedia Why, thank you so much for your thoughtful answer. Your explanations all make sense. Aside from that, I believe I jumped to conclusions too quickly when comparing the speaker's sound to my headphones, forgetting that my headphones have their own bias. Me being silly.

I recently bought these speakers and I think they are lacking a little bit of midrange. I connected them to pc with 3.5mm jack. I'm curious how much would sound improve with the audio interface or proper sound card. Other than that great value speakers

@enigmalex3649 I’m not sure in regards to the audio interface/sound card improving the the mid range, however I do think that the audio would be cleaner/less digital noise compared to the pc audio jack. If your pc supports an equaliser for the sound output to the 3.5mm jack, I would suggest trying to tune the midrange to your liking. That would be a good place to start before purchasing an audio interface/sound card.

You need a subwoofer with more oomf than 4 watts. Makes all the difference in the world.

It really is a big difference! Ive used those little Logitech sound systems over the years and just got used to the noice they would make, but it is a night and day difference with the Edifier units.
