Actually, at first, this confused me too. Although the edifier's subwoofer output looks like 2 channels, each channel is actually mono. you can try this. as an example: with stereo y-cable (3.5 - 2 x rca). Connect the 3.5 pin to the sub out output. Connect the rca input with R to the lfe input of the subwoofer. open a music from the phone and then. from the phone's settings, only stream audio from the opposite direction L channel. You will see that the subwoofer continues to work while only the L speaker of the edifier is sounding. is the same in these two scenarios. I couldn't find comparisons of the JBL Stage A100p subwoofer with the Edifier T5. The JBL specs are much better than the Edifier T5. Do you know if they are really much better?
