thanks for review, you are bang on with the 38Hz, on Edifiers own page for the T5 it gives the frequency response as 38 - 200 Hz !

You're welcome! I'm still using it and we're what, nearly 6 months on now from when I did this video. Very happy with what this Sub does for the price I paid.

I’m just about to buy one _ it seems great value, I already have Edifier 1280T bookshelf speakers hooked to computer and have been wondering how to add some decent bass, on a budget.

Thank you for sharing your experience after a year of use. I am looking for a small sub option as I am currently renting a room and already own some Edifier speakers that I managed to find on a really good sale, the S3000 pros. I found that after borrowing a friends 10 inch sub to try out it was just to boomy for a smedium sized bedroom. I'd imagine I would have more luck with a smaller unit like this as I will have more places I can fit it for a better overall experience. It is a pity I can only find them in grey but hey, function over form. Cheers

You're welcome! The grey isn't so bad, it's pretty neutral so fits in with most colour schemes and you'll probably have it hidden away out of sight anyway. As I said I have mine turned down very low and still I'm very happy with the bass I'm getting from it for my room. All the best with your setup.

Hello, thank you for the video! I bought this subwoofer and wanted to set it up but have a problem with the volume dial. It goes from silence to already too loud for my setup, there's no in between no matter how slowly I turn the volume knob. Is this normal or is this a defect? Thank you. And by the way I read in reviews that this subwoofer doesn't have a built in crossover the rca in and rca out is basically just a rca splitter, it doesn't change the frequency (I wished it did though), you could test it by playing a 100Hz tone with crossover at 160Hz and see if the 100Hz tone is played by the speakers. I wasn't able to test this myself yet.

I bought the 351db and this t5 sub for 2 subs sounds alright but the t5 sub is better in the way that the bass is heavier the 351db sub doesn't pump as hard due to the built in dsp and no knows on the back of it but still a good combo I'm looking to buy another t5 sub for a total of 3 since they are so cheap.

Hey, thanks for the review. I’ve just picked up some Q Acoustics M20 and need something (a bit cheaper than the QB12) to help them out. Is this going to keep up? 4mx4m room. Am I going to be lacking bass when I stick some dnb on? I live in Thailand and there isn’t much else available that’s decent around this price range.

I'm old skool and prefer Jungle to DnB but I've played both. Alex Reece's DnB classic "Pulp Fiction" and it's throbbing bass line sounded good with this T5.

So the crossover is still sending all the frequencies bellow 100hz to your satelite speakers? Seems like a missed oppertunity if thats the case as you relieve a lot from your main speakers allowing them to play louder with less distortion if they don't have to push out lows which most ppl will benifit from in the budget space for sound.

No my KEF satellite speakers are connected to an AVR. So the crossover set on that stops them getting below 100Hz, the subwoofer is hooked up to the AVR and takes care of the low end frequencies. Any powered speakers connected to the subwoofers RCA ports however will get a full range signal. The subs crossover dial doesn't change the RCA output from there.

hello, do you know if this subwoofer is more powerful than the one in a 5.1 home theater from genius?

Not without knowing the model number.

Is this conected to a pre amp as in the instructions it says you cannot do this ?
@Honosuseri
@Honosuseri Месяц назад
No I'm not using a pre amp. They are meant to boost a weak signal to then go into a power amplifier that drives loud speakers. I have an Audio Video Receiver (AVR), it has an amplifier built in and has 2 subwoofer outputs as I said in the video.

Hello, Can I connect a second subwoofer with the first subwoofer? Via signal out. It's called (Daisy Chaining) translated with Google Translater

Nice video. Though I think it's a mistake to simply dismis the connecter as ' not the best in the world' its complete and utter garbage which is unsuprising for any piece of audio kit at this price point...its the ob thing to economise on. However spending £15 on a J&D 1.8 m cable 2 male rc to single male rc will improve things dramatically. I have a wiim amp which has an inbuilt sub port and it works really well. I intentionally have the sub in a corner mounted on anti vibration washing machine pucks virtually no money from Timu.
@Honosuseri
@Honosuseri 4 месяца назад
The point was to let people know all cables required are supplied and I tested with them. No they're not great and yes there are affordable cables with shielding that would be an improvement. Using washing machine pucks to isolate the subwoofer from the surface is a good well known trick. I did make a point of saying people should do their "homework" and learn more to get the best from their equipment. Thank you and for taking the time to comment. Glad to hear you also enjoy using this inexpensive Subwoofer. All the best!

Hello, do you experience any chuffing trough the port on this sub? (I dont want just yes/no for an answer) im talking, with really bassy songs/movies, at high volume?
@Honosuseri
@Honosuseri 5 месяцев назад
Hello. I did try to explain that in the video. You will get chuffing because of the port if you raise the subs volume too high. Even though I show I have the sub's volume dial very low, I still get good bass to compensate for my satellite speakers lack of it. I am still getting the "rumbling" effect in movies like "Fury", without any chuffing sound from the sub. Hope that helps to clarify things.
