Hello Robbie the MP4 is a container and AVC is H.264 - HEVC is H.265. the difference between this two codes are the H.264(AVC) analyse the Blocks by 8 differences. The H.265(HEVC) make that analyse by 32 differences. But you can make a experiment on your Linux Mint - install the ffmpeg. => sudo apt update => sudo install ffmpeg. Then take a uncompresses Video in AVI and convert it into H.264 and in H.265 with normal quality. For H.264 => ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vcodec libx264 -crf 20 output.mp4 For H.265 => ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vcodec libx265 -crf 28 output.mp4 the crf tell the ffmpeg the compression quality this is for H.264 -crf 20 and for H.265 -crf28 I make experiments with this and let see what happend if you change it to i.e. -crf 51 then you say OMG! The file size after compression is in H.265 much higher and the file is much smaller! Best Regards Volker from Vienna.
It will work the only thing is the HD channels you'll need an HD receiver for them. But for example on Galaxy 19 there still has lots of channels that are mpeg-2 still
Is this still your go to as far as Linux receivers go? I currently have 2 standard and 1 android STB's and am getting a little bored with them, and am wondering if there is more available out there. I guess Id like to have 1 receiver that can do standard OTA and also pull in every possible signal I would ever want to pull in. Currently I only have KU Band.
I heard in one of your videos asking how HEVC is pronoinced, in all references i see it is pronoinced as separate letters, but this is a free world, it can be pronounced however each person likes
For $195 it's kinda pricy compared to some other DVB-S2X+DVB-T2/C tuner boxes that can be purchaced for around $45. But in this case you get what you pay for such as multiple streams and web streaming as well as Open Source Firmware which in return helps support FOSS. If I lived in Europe that has DVB-T/T2 for OTA along with DVB-S2X for Satellites it would absolutley be worth the money. Btw, if you still have this device, and are able to ssh into it, are you able to see if the DVB-T Tuner is based on an RTL2832U + R280T chipset? If so, you can likley use it as a RTL-SDR.
I do know you can SSH into it. Don't know how to do that much! Would love to use it as a SDR. What I like about it is I can watch the satellite channels on my computer! What is Foss anyway? Free Open Source Software?
The real answer is if you are poor and have no money so you must buy a $45 Box. But this don't make you happy! A Box should be have a high speed processor like the VU+zero4K (€169,-) or the Dreambox DM900 (€259,-) but this also a very good alternative is the Octagon SF8008 (€129,- don't buy the cheap €109,- this box have only one tuner!) I think that the Edision mio 4K can also do the openatv 6.4? Isn't it Robbie? - Best Regards Volker from Vienna
Does this have DIRECTV satellites?? Does that mean I could plug in my DTV dish and get Satellite 101 channels for FREE? The box can decode the signal and I could watch all them?? Answer ASAP.
Good, my brother Nigerian was asking if we west Africa countries can track it under the same angle or freequency . Please what sat? Freequency, symbol rate, and dish size. Nana-Ghana
What's single satalight would you recommend for a beginner that's not too big. Maybe a motorized version to get the most out of a single dish. I'm in Wisconsin united states
How much would you actually have in costs for a decent set up compared to how many channels that you would get? Is there a list of free OTA sattalite channels out there somewhere that I could access from my location? Like tv fool?
If I have another box that can load terrestrial signals unlike this edison box, wouldn't it be fairly simple to use the other box's software in the Edison 4K +?
How does this work? is 1 lnb wire going into input1 for c band and 1 into lnb input 2. Or do you do have it with 1 wire only coming from 2 dishes outside with the diseqc switch outside also? i'm trying to limit the coaxial wires coming into the house you see. Regards
yes get a switch for that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q28YdVwLK8M.html diseqc switch i'm trying to limit the coaxial wires coming into the house you see. Regards
Can you watch 4k satellite channels on mpeg4 receiver?? I didn't mean without downgrading the quality just to watch the channel in 480 or 720 quality can you??
Most 4K is in h. 265 so a ten-year-old mpeg-4 receiver would probably be out-of-date for that. There only is one or two 4K channels on satellite. The Edison satellite receiver is capable of picking it up
where can i get info for: i used to use a pansat and a dreambox years ago to get premium channls. I now just moved to Texas in the middle of nowhere and I do not want iptv. What suggestions and guides are out there to get a new setup. All i have is a couple of oval dish and directv with multiple lnbs. Suggestions? Thank you
I'm suspecting the channels you be interested in would be on Sea band for the problem is you need a large 8-foot dish to get those. You can't get some on Ku band which is a smaller dish with a linear KU Band lnb a little different than the subscription services use. I have many videos on my channel discussing on. please check out a few of my please check out a few of my playlist on my channel. @@RobbieStrike Thanks for the quick response. Going to check out those videos. I am sure i can get an old dish as they are abandoned everywhere here in TX.
@@RobbieStrike Brilliant video , 500GB storage is optional from this company near London www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/edision-os-mio-4k-grey?filter_name=edision%20mio
I'm not sure what dish it is. Let me know what company it says on it. Although that's great if you want to get a KU Band linear dish. The cable and the mount is already set up. I did a video on my Channel about certain Dish and DirecTV dishes that most of them will not work with linear KU Band free-to-air
I got mine from www.Tek2000.com but they have been out of stock. But If they have any I recommend them with there suport on the www.tvrosat.com website. It is the only receiver I ever got with all the channels already programed in from north America!
I did not fully understand what the blessed my english doing what he's doing yok.bura of the turkey-up message, you know it can not be sold here translated by google satellite with the calisirim.s to understand.

I am of the understanding that I could hook this up and receive clear QAM channels now cable companies tend to and crypt most of their QAM channels so this would not work they want you to use their proprietary receivers and pay the feesI. But with #FreeSatelliteTv you can get hundreds of free unencrypted channels on a satellite dish
