Not a single video ever talked about this in reducing CPU load! I can't thank you enough. 1 more tip for people trying to rename a large number of files is using power automate, all the renaming can be done in less than 2 mins or if you can write some python script!
wow this video is such a life saver! I've always recorded my videos to 2.7k and avoided 4k and 5k because of too much fear here haha. But luckily I found your video! Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much, this was super helpful, to help with bulk renaming there's a great part of the PowerTools set called PowerRename. I used that to rename over 100+ clips in a matter of seconds.
This video actually explains how this is done. Other videos do not explain the process properly and seem to assume that you have already done some steps. Thanks for this!
Hey @drom Media Zone thx for the vid. HERE is a tip/trick for 4:00 you can in the Search bar top right type: .mp4 that wil give u only mp4 file in that folder :) and .LRV and for change all the files from .LRV you can Ctrl+a then Rename one of them to .mp4 it should like to change all marked to mp4
Thank you! Was about to give up on davince because of this. Still trying to make up my mind if I'll stick with Davince and upgrade it so my ....rtx 4090 get used.
thanks for this vid. My situation is a little different.. my gopro seems to create a 360lrv file instead? I found I cannot use this as a proxy.. Not sure why I'm getting that format?
tnk u. Can u tell me pls what settings u are using for making video in low light conditions ? ( GP11 here )( I m tryng to video record The Metro trains )
Brilliant video. If I have not kept my LRV file, can I open my 5K and save using the 'least' option in quality to make a low res version before I start editing? ... Edit... I should have watched the video to the end :O)
Before I watched this video I set the default application when opening the LRV files to be the windows media player and that has ruined everything for me.. The only thing I can find to do is to convert it to proxy media but that takes sooo long to load.. Does anyone know how I can reset what I did to erase any default application it opens with? I even have tried mp4 converters online but it does not accept the file type
I have been having the same problem trying to shoot motovlogs on the osmo action 4 I tried the relink proxy media but for some reason nothing was popping up after I made the files
When i import my 5k media to DaVinci my videos are playable and i get sound but the software wont show video footage giving "Media Offline" error message in red. I really want to make my vacation video but it seems all my footage is just not playable on certain software than others. Any recommendation on what to do? Ive tried converting the hevc file to mp4 but then the clips are very laggy and distorted in DaVinci.
Czy masz zainstalowany kodek ze sklepu Microsoft store? "Rozszerzenia wideo HEVC " ja z gopro 9 miałem problem i za pare $ musiałem kupić ten kodek w oficjalnym sklepie do win10
@@AdamMaszynotwor I know there is a codec i need to purchase for a dollar if i want to watch the video footage on the Windows Player, but that shouldnt affect DaVinci software
hi wonderful video but doesnt this process affect the quality of the video as we have shot in extreme high res and we are using lrv files and not the og footage (mp4). What RES would be the final output low or high ?????????
I don't get the point to work in this way... Seem to reinvent the wheel... In the project settings you can select the format of the proxy file and you can select the resolution that you want. You can also select the resolution on the video editor... More easy and automatic..
Good video. But there is no reason to make such copies and 2 folders. Just turn on in prefererences to use same folder for mpeg and lrv files and Davinci Resolve sees them as proxy by default. Same thing in Shotcut just turn on proxy feature and prog. sees lrv as proxies automatically.
Hello Asa. Could you, please, tell me in steps how to make the Davinci see the LRV files as proxy by default? I'm a complete beginner so I didn't understand your initial explanation. Thank you very much
There is one actually. Buying faster computer which has no issues like these. If your machine is slow you need proxies to speed up your workflow. There is another tip for those who don't want to convert all these LRVs to MP4. Davinci Resolve is preinstalled with additional tool. It's called Blackmagic Proxy Generator Lite. It's independent from Resolve. In it you can add a watched folder to the list and it will automatically generate proxies in the background for example when you don't use your computer for some time. In Resolve you can also change all parameters of proxy media like resolution, codec, etc.
