I'm working on a large project with 40+ hours of interview, this saved me months of my life. Great tutorial sir.

Great tutorial, so many videos out there are not showing a practical real-life workflow and just mention the new feature without context. Really appreciate this. Beware though that strangely, sub clips DO NOT appear in Smart Bins (no disclosure triangle available in list view). Say, if you applied a keyword "Interview" to all your interviews clips to quickly locate the talking heads in your media pool, you won't be able to display your the extended markers in list view. You'll have to go to a "normal" bin.

Thanks for the tutorial. This helped out a lot, as i had a multicam shoot with a couple of different mics / recorders, too, and no timecode generators to sync everything up. And resolve's "auto align" function wasn't working out for me. Searching for the text in the transcript, then creating a subclip helped to get things synced.

how to leave only full words in the video and trim uuuuhh and aaaahhhhh sounds which are not detected by the davinci??

I collaborate with a couple filmmakers who say this can be done in Premiere but after trying it in Resolve in multiple languages, I am skeptical Premiere could handle this in any meaningful way. I have been using all the methods you showed but I stumbled my way through to figure it out. Though I would have benefitted greatly from your video, that I figured it out is a testament to the software being very approachable despite its power.

Great video! My transcription wasn't quite acurate as I'm transcribing a song where I isolated the lyrics using the Vocal Isolation feature. I can't for the life of me figure out how to adjust the timing of the transcription after I edit the words. Any ideas?

I think it's very close to be useful for docs. But they could remove one key step by having a 'transcription' field in the metadata, which automatically makes subclips / marker ranges based on the transcription.

Thanks for showing some ways to use this. On prob I'm having is the playhead isn't snapping to In Point like it did for you @5:00. It's just opening the sub clip when I double clip.. Help solving this would be great

How accurate is the transcription? RU-vid will create subtitles automatically, but I then need to paste them in GPT to get the correct punctuation and capitalization.

These markers you can create are like subclips but one problem I'm running into is removing the subclip or marker I created as an example or test. HELP?

I’m intensely interested in transcription software. All the sudden, there’s tons of it, making it difficult to evaluate. Lots of very rough UI and feature sets in this new category. For instance, I’m hoping to find something that excels with a Tentacle Sync multi-camera workflow in FCPX, with dual system sound (Sound Devices recorder).

All my interviews are 2 cameras, plus audio from a Sound Devices recorder. I create multicams in FCP, then export an XML to the Builder app from Lumberjack Systems. I think the text based editing there is much more robust than what I see in Resolve. In Builder, I can keyword any comment, then build out stories using text. And I can do that with multiple interviews at the same time, mixing up comments, based on sorted topics, from each person as needed to build out a rough story line. Two clicks sends it back to FCP (or Premiere). Saves me huge amounts of time.

Can the transcription feature be used with multicam clips that have a fixed audio layer? This would be a fantastic way to find spots in a multi-cam clip where you would like to change angles, but I have not been able to get it to work in this manner so far. Wondering if the feature exists or if maybe I'm just misunderstanding how to use the tool

As an fyi, I have been trying to manipulate this feature to do basic stuff and it has failed at every turn. Countless hours almost everyday for the last few weeks wasted. Here are a few of the problems I ran into. 1) the "silent" parts (almost all of the time) are not silent at all. Only about 20% of those areas that where marked silent in my script were actually silent. Mind you my co-host and I talk very loud. So that was extremely confusing to me that those areas were deemed silent. 2) If I add a marker it will not actually show up on my timeline itself. It will only show up on the viewer whenever I have the transcript open and selected, which makes it pointless to even use the markers. My co-host and I don't make that many mistakes when doing a podcast so it would be nice if we could gray out the areas where we want for a statement here and there to be deleted. I have wasted countless hours trying to add markers and tags to my timeline using the TS so that I can visually see were I need to edit out parts, and nothing has worked. 3) I was very confused by the fact that when a word in the timeline video TS is selected it doesn't move the track head to that point on the actual timeline.... Since we cant delete anything via the TS why not let us move around the track head to those parts so that we can delete it as we are reading/listening. 4) The ai also does not recognize some words, especially filler words like Um and ah. and if you repeat a statement twice at a simi fast pace, it will account for 1 of those statements. It seems very misleading when you are counting on the TS to tell you where you made mistakes. 5) DR's manual does not provide any troubleshooting information, im assuming because they think their system is perfect 😂. I love their software, but it is a real pain to have upgraded to a feature to find out it doesn't work how every video was portraying it. You seem to have one of the most comprehensive tutorials on the matter, but even then there are a lot of things that when unsaid that could have help with the troubleshooting side of things. Thanks for the video. Im going to be sending this same list to DR. I hope it helps them to better structure out the next update.

This transcribe function of DR is definitely in its infancy. I would also love to be able to have the playhead moving in the transcription when the clip is on the timeline.

@@Superjeanmarc I would totally love for them to look at how descript's text editing function works. That was exactly how I thought DR's transcript editor was going to function.

I don't want to come off as a douche bag but, I really don't see the difference between the subclip thing and editing by text (the last method you displayed) I mean other than sub clip giving us a in and out marker and ability to name the subclip, what are they for? what sets them apart from just highlighting what segment we want in the viewer and dragging/dropping it in the timeline? am I missing something here? Anyways, thanks for your effort nonetheless.
