I really wish “I’m Fine” had gotten a parallel music video to “Save Me” because no only does it use a remix of that iconic opening synth, but the message of that song is, “I’ve relied on you too much and I need to save myself and I can do that, thank you for being there for me.”

Fun Fact: Save Me saved ME. It was the first music video I clicked on, in 2017, and threw me down the BTS rabbit hole while simultaneously pulling me out of the dark (and it was DARK) hole I'd been in. BTS had somehow taken over all my Recommended videos, despite having not been into kpop since I was a teen, and I caved and said "One video to prove they're like the rest." Turns out they were NOT like the rest, and the music resonated hard with me. Been an ARMY ever since. So this video is so nostalgic to me for many reasons, and it's just so incredible. The behind-the-scenes for it was super cool (and hilarious watching them all run behind the camera lol).

Considering that 'Save Me' was shot on sandy soil when it was also windy, cold, with intermittent rain? I think BTS was pretty synced up, considering everything. In the behind-the-scenes video, you can see the redness on their ears and hands from the cold. I've always wondered what the wind chill factor was that day? Great reaction video, Jordon!

I wanted to add to the message of the song. Yes, there is the message about like some kind of relationships, being it romantic or platonic, BTS is not that simple of group. They always said something like love yourself, be yourself, so I think in part this song is about also loving yourself. You know, when you don't love yourself you qickly falling down to the darkest and lowest places, so I think this song is mix of both: It's about times when you at your lowest and desperatly need a helping hand, someone who would love you and teach you how to love yourself, but also "you" as yourself, like I'm my own saviour, I talk to myslef and saying: I know it's you who can really save me, you need to love me as "I need to start loving myslef" something like this.

2:05 that's whyyyy there's I'm Fine. It's like Save Me is the start of a conversation or a request, answered by I'm Fine which says (RM's verse) "It's alright, I am my own salvation". This duo of songs also exemplifies the theme of Love Yourself.

i'm PRETTY sure they're not saying that you have to be in a "romantic" relationship to be saved from your dark or negative thoughts, they're saying any meaningful relationship (friends, family etc.) can be really helpful when you're in a dark place:) their familiar voice or face can "snap" you out of those phases and their presence itself can make you want to be and do better (lovely message) that's the great things about BTS, though some of their songs like save me or spring day songs can be interpreted as "love song", peel back the layers and you can see that they mean SO MCUH MORE

Tbh, this is one of my favorite M/Vs because it shows you how impactful you can be with even the more simplistic methods. There's no flashy costuming or sets, just the dance and the camera footage to make it what it is.

2:11 Save me is one song in a long series about a journey of discovering self love, “I need you love before I fall” This line kinda shows this immature way of thinking about love, the desperation, the feeling of needing someone to save you from your emotional turmoil. The romanticization of someone coming and “fixing you” but ultimately being left unsatisfied and alone because that’s not how love works and that’s not how emotions work. Later they wrote I’m fine to show that they saved themselves and while they may be broken in ways, they are healing and doing ok on there own now.

I remember watching this from a hostel in Busan when it dropped and it will forever remind me of that 😭😭😭😭

FUN FACT: The choreo crew for this song, Quick Style (who have become infamous for that Kala Chashma video) revealed that they had also visualised the camera work along with the choreo for this song. So when they watched the official video, they saw that every movement was incorporated into the video. They were very grateful. The video was also shot in Norway, the home country of the choreographers. I am not a video editor but i am binging on these videos 😄 they are really interesting because i would have never guessed the intention behind the visuals. Thank you Jordan!

Tbh I think save me is based on bts webtoon 'save me' and hyyh era (Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa (화양연화) or “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life.” (got these off of google, so credits to that) As you can see the BTS members are wearing the same clothing they did in the save me webtoon and the hyyh era videos/scenes..and also Jin wanted to save all of his friends from danger and stuff, y' know trying to change the fate, and also it can mean to be saved by your loved ones or your partner because the way they say the lyrics “I need your love before I fall..” that also speaks that their saying it to their partner like their relationship which proves Jordans point in save me and as I saw people agreeing with Jordan, I tried to think more deeper about the save me mv and I think he's right..so yep! Just didn't wanna have Jordan misunderstanding their concept about their mv save me..and thank you for reading my long ass boring comment hehe..since your here already here's a cookie 🍪 have a nice day/night :) edit; I have seen army's saying that's the reason they created "I'm fine" and it's true! to me this song isn't a love song like that, its actually even more real and simple than that, the very end, namjoons part, says it all. thank you for giving us wings, thank you for becoming 'us/we'. it's addressing us and saying thanks for saving us and our dream with your love towards us and our music. thanks for being a team and fighting alongside us. it's mixed with vague dramatic things that make it relatable to other situations as well but at the core of it it's the same references they always make to their careers and dreams and lifes. this entire album series, especially hyyh pt1 was made as their final attempt at success after both bts and armys had fought through the worst of times, and if it hadn't gotten love as it did it would have destroyed their dreams. it's really vulnerable, and this song is really just a cry out to let them hold on to their dream a little longer. at least that's what I've come to learn w/ bts. what seems like a love song at first usually turns out to be about music, bts, and/or armys.
