I think I've just realised what they were doing with that fake ending. On one of the panels of the theatre it said "Open Run 2015.10 - 'Infinity symbol'". There is a well known "7 year curse" in kpop. Last year they renewed their contracts. That fake ending was to say "We're not ending when you think we're ending. We're gonna keep going however long we want" which plays into the rest of the theme of the video of breaking out from the norms and doing things their own way
I think that might be a theme throughout the whole thing, like they set the old theatre on fire and are entering a new era. like it’s their rebirth as a group or something
Interesting point, but the 7 year curse doesn't apply to groups that are extremely successful. I was never the slightest bit worried about Twice disbanding, you don't quit when you're winning.
@@MarkDeSade100 I mean, it's applied to other pretty popular groups too (see: gfriend), so I don't think it was completely unreasonable for ppl to think it would apply to twice
@@ephalant Gfriend didn't disband because of the "7 year curse", they broke up because their company Source Music was bought by HYBE and they didn't like their new bosses. It wasn't because they didn't want to be Kpop stars anymore, 5 out of the 6 members are still promoting as idols under new management.
it's also really cool how at 3:27 the circle on the bottom right caused by her shattering the glass matches with the circular mirror on the next scene!
TWICE have shared that the individual scenes are their own versions of being SET FREE! Now I really wanna know the interpretation for all! Nayeon - escaping the pressure of walls closing in and choosing to walk her own path Jeongyeon - breaking free from pressure of constantly being watched Momo - taking control by being behind the camera Sana - breaking free from the pressure of beauty standards Mina - feeling trapped and being able to be free to speak for her own Jihyo - breaking free from societal standards of how she must look and act as an idol Dahyun - being confident and walking through the chaos Chaeyoung - painting a different picture and literally flying away Tzuyu - burning the strings thats binding her on keeping a certain idol image These are beautiful and reminds me so much of some of their other title track songs like Perfect World, Fake and True and especially Feel Special who have personal meanings for each member!
Damn !!👁️👄👁️ Even after being in industry for almost 8 years twice's passion for music never changed . Like I've never seen any other group with these much amount of comebacks & content . They have been doing Korean comebacks , japanese comebacks , full length albums , variety shows , world tours , award shows , music bank performances , fansign events with the same passion & energy as their debut. They always gives their 100% in every performance like they've just debuted now . Now they even renewed their contract like girls are you'll not even tired ?? These girls are unstoppable . So much content & wide range of discography with different genres & styles . Only twice can do this 🥰
Is it me or Kpop is being very meta recently? I am loving it, like SKZ rewinding the video and jumping out the screen, Itzy and IVE showing the sets, green screens, marks for effects and all the behind the scenes stuff, New Jeans' whole new concept with metaphors of the industry and the fans... and now my queens too! All different, but I'm seeing a cool pattern
Twice literally never failed to amazed me, even on their 8th year they stay humble and very kind, he 9 girls treat each member as a family and they love each other so much, im so proud of my Queens
I feel bad for all of the people who have not seen the MV yet (there are a lot) and who are being spoiled right now by the thumbnail. Getting the surprise from the first watch was really awesome. The timing was perfect, just the right amount of time to make us hope it was not going to end, then the right amount of time with the end logo to believe it was the end. I was already headed to the comment section freaking out about how abruptly the song ended. Thankfully it started back I was so relieved. This could have really been the end of the song, it wouldn't be the first time. Who else completely fell into the prank like me and thought it was awesome ?
Yeah, mv and album is really good. But you know some people supreting hate towards mv and album saying it's worst cb or song is bad. And yeah, i didn't understand your comment first time but after understand what you want to said.
@@Raphael-2 it's what you thinking. I'm saying lots of people saying mv is bad without seeing it. Like you you feel bad for those who haven't watched but some of people saying this without watching mv one time. That's what I'm saying. Well yeah, thumbnail is really great and one of the best thumbnail from jype ever twice gets.
@@try_best There is definitely some kind of misunderstanding going on so basically what I said in my comment is that the thumbnail of this video (not the MV) is spoiling the fake ending prank for people who have not watched the MV yet but might see this video in their feed. Then I just talked about how cool the fake ending was.
@@Raphael-2 OOO ok. Now i understand i aldo gets confuse with video thumbnail. But i already see mv before this video and i know jype can do anything but they can't fake anything to their fans.
That is exactly the message of the song that they want to give, to go out and try new things, grow as artists and let go of Korean standards, such as making a cute concept and always wearing makeup.
with their song and the concept plust the timing of them renewing their contract and winning billboard women award, i wish i get something more frim the mv. like i wish they directed it like taylor swift's ready for it or bad blood. would be mindblowing
sana's part reminds me of princess diana (the movie) when she pull her pearl necklace. when she feels like she's strangled by the people in the palace. and want to be free
Here Nayeon sings "Maybe i'm jumping into this with 'Eyes wide open'" 6:27 And they freakin make an eye. That's just a cool detail lol. Love your videos Jordan 💗
Also the part when Sana, Nayeon, and Dahyun are walking in some kind of hallway, it kinda looks like the hallway from heart shaker because of the doors.
This an example of one of the signatures of JYP/JYPE choreography: lyricism. Often times the dance movements and imagery directly correlate to what is being said. It seems like a simple an obvious direction to take, but a lot of times dance moves are arbitrary to lyrics, maybe just doing whatever feels good to the music, regardless of the words or message. To dive deeper, many times songs are “written” one way and set to music, and then workshopped in such a way that the lyrics of the final song are different than the original lyrics to some degree. A song may be sent to choreographers with just an early version of the music, before the lyrics are finalized. In these cases, the choreographer may be planning out the dance to old lyrics that will wind up changed or even sometimes just the writer or top-liner (vocal melody composer/arranger) simply humming or using filler words/sounds. To have a song choreographed to final lyrics means a lot of lead time was provided before the release, allowing all interdependencies to fall into place before the next person fulfills their role. As we’ve seen with Twice, they often record and film their videos multiple months ahead of actual release. There was an Itzy web show where they were promoting Sneakers, and JYP was already saying their then-unannounced next song (which turned out to be Cheshire) was his favorite of theirs.
For me, it's like they're living a movie-like life but they don't really enjoy this anymore, they wanna be themselves and break out of this kind of world. They wanna be freed from this kind of living. So they blow up the film their living in in order to be free. Idk, I just came up with this after watching the mv once :)))
Jordan is so talented and always has own perspective on kpop music videos, I wish and also believe he would soon get more and more subscribers and viewers!
maybe because they love to sing and dance that doesn’t mean they should be pressured to uphold toxic beauty standards deal with stalkers etc just because they can hold a note
I really really like your view on this video at time code 7:01. That makes sense. Helping your friends feel comfortable in your own skin. And knowing how close the members of TWICE are, that really fits who they are. Helping each other grow and be more of themselves!
3:45 Bro i love how Jordan said even if you don’t wanna sub, he still loves us very much…..tho i’ve been subbed for awhile….still its a good thing to say❤️
I hit subscribe like 10 seconds before you told me to in the video haha!! You were really quick on the draw with this! Must be a secret ONCE ;) I have seen some of your other videos (NewJeans and XG reactions) and I thank you for the professional perspective you add to all of these videos! Very enjoyable to watch, finally got me to subscribe. Thanks!!
as a screen creative and a long time twice fan, I never notice a lot of these things and the meaning behind them since I am so focus on their songs and leaning their dances. Thanks for pointing them out. Twice is amazing in any way
@@Ryanapitupulu ikr..but still i just miss Jordan react to Twice mv..he's fun.😆 my little wish is to see jordan working with jyp as music video editor 🙏
@@ainstergram8793 Jordan got bad comments when he reacted to Itzy "boys like you" which was the same situation with moonlight sunrise: pre-released English song, using a few sets and outfits...I guessed he passed for moonlight sunrise. He even haven't reacted txt title track sugar rush...so yea...
THE "bro, it's like they're so free, they went to another planet" HAHAHHAHAHA it got meee HAHHAHAH! It also made me remember Everglow's MVs with extraterrestrial environments that made me think twice: "This is TWICE right?" HAHAHHAH
I see another meaning or connection. Remember in their mv Signal, they turned into Aliens in the end. Now they are trying to set themselves free and go off to a new alien environment, signaling the start of a new relationship.
My opinion is that if you look at the lyrics, they want to be set free from keeping their love hidden like they want to just say it to be free from the thought that the person might not like them back or that they would'nt be able to tell the person before he/she's gone
I am always amazed how well you can interpret and understand videos. I am interested in the production of films, mvs, … and love to learn from your explanations. I also appreciate some scenes more after your videos.
This wins the video awards, it has to For me, I wish I see them live one day, they aint messin around. you can tell, just from what they doin in the mv. they got in the car
Thanks for the video!! I love your content, and I literally fall in the fake video ending trap, but yeah its a interesting idea from them. And like always, Twice edits just kill everything.
10:17 STOP THAT MAKES SM SENSE NOW BECAUSE IF U LOOK IT THE BACK OF SOME OF THE SHOTS AND IN THE TRAILER THERE IS LIKE NEWS LETTERS OR IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN IT OF THEIR OLD SONGS AND AT ONE POINT NAYEON SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT EYES WIDE OPEN STOP TYSM FOR THAT
