Alessandra! This is SO spot-on! I've worked for a few years as an editor, and these were the things that ultimately caused me burn-out! I would love to help a writer round-out a scene or character with probing questions/comments, etc, but so many newer authors are impatient, rush the process, and want to focus on the showy parts of the process... author takeovers, marketing, cover model shoots, cover reveals... But neglected the ACTUAL written work! It was endlessly frustrating and had me second-guessing my abilities. These are such great suggestions. Thank you for sharing this! Much love! ~Kristen "Grammar" Lands
I'm so glad that it was spot on! I owe it all to the wonderful editors who participated in the survey - and for Breann Green with Three Point Author Services who helped hold the survey. :)
Good advice! Although it seems pretty basic. I don't even send the manuscript to my betas without me going over it at least a couple of times. Even more. Finding the right editor for YOU is REALLY important. I think it's the key to publishing the best work possible.
