With all due respect, there is no way they can win anything when two of best players in the world could not do anything in game 7. There are so many better teams out there; hard to imagine if they can go to the Stanley Cup Final next year or again. They might not be able to beat those Canucks or Stars again next season. They did miss their greatest opportunity here : )
Gotta give the Panthers credit, they fixed what they needed to fix. They sealed the boards, cut off the rush chances that were killing them, and Bob found his game when he most needed it. Very close, but just slightly short. Looking forward to a better team and a better season next time out.

Proud of how far they got, disappointed in the level of desperation they played with all game, felt like they were playing with an imaginary lead in the 1st and 2nd and started playing once it was too late.
The only thing that I will say as a Flames fan is that this game 7 between the Oilers and Panthers was eerily similar to the Lightning and Flames game 7 from 2004.

As a Canucks fan this team was unreal that last series was amazing thanks for one of the greatest season finals ever being down 3-0 then tie 3-3 by absolutely domintating every game and then they lose by 1 what a series im already excited for next season what a end to the season

Last time I visited this channel was when you went crazy when Oilers lost the sharks and almost last in the standings. It was a good run but this loss stings and it'll take a long time to recover.

Florida fan here, well, that was about as close of a series as you could ask for. Could have won either way. Micdavid was unbelievable, he deserved the Conn Smythe all the way. Good series y'all.
They didn't stop playing. Knob panicked with 9 minutes left and refused to let his top players get ANY rest at all, so they had literally nothing left to give in the final 2 minutes.
Disappointing end to a great playoff run, but there are positives that we can take out of this. The team was competitive throughout most of the series, they just ran out of gas and maybe lost a little something with Evander Kane out of the lineup for tonight's game. But congrats to the Panthers. Good on Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, Kyle Okposo, Sergei Bobrovsky, and Paul Maurice on the Cup win. Barkov now joins MacKinnon amongst 2013 draftees to win a Cup title (remember when Seth Jones was projected to go 2nd overall in 2013, but the Panthers went with Barkov instead? And Jones ended up going 4th overall? Took a while, but it ended up working out for the Panthers).
One way for Canadian teams to break cup drought is to have an Oiler style team out east winning their division like, Leafs, MTL, Ottawa or Jets, because in the West Oilers despite losing in the final are the more skill individuals but could use some help that's why US teams always win more numbers equal more chances and less pressure that's taken away by regional rivalries 😆

Tough luck with the officiating being on Florida's side. (It was subtle, but still was, american team versus a canadian team? The league would never allow a canadian team to defeat an american team, if Edmonton started dominating the play, they would have penalties for everything they did...)

I remember when the Oilers lost to the Islander’s in their 1st SCF than went on to win 5 Stanley Cups after that loss. Hopefully this is a learning experience. You can’t win them all.

Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythe as the MVP of the playoffs (he didn't come out for the trophy, he wanted the cup). So I couldn't watch or listen to the game. I have treatments on Monday's that make that pretty much impossible. I tried catching what I could but just couldn't watch or listen to a lot. The stats tell and interesting back and forth in some ways but the key stats for me are Giveaways, Takeaways, and Blocked Shots. Oilers had less giveaways (by 4) (good). They also had 5 less takeaways (not good) and 4 less blocks (13 for the Oilers, 17 for the Panthers, also not good). The Panthers out hit Edmonton 30 to 19 (so by 11). Edmonton was slightly better in the faceoff circle and took 1 extra penalty though both PK's were at 100% and no one scored on the PP. By all accounts this was a good and very close game that the Panthers just did a little more to win. Mentioned it to a friend's son once but it's possible to do your best and do everything right yet still lose because others can be better. In this game Leon didn't even get a Shot on Goal and Connor had 2. The big 4 were offensively invisible. That is a good for the Panthers and a Bad for the Oilers. I hope the Oilers get there, I hope they hoist the cup again (and I hope it's next year). Hope is understanding but a lot of things have to happen for there to be realistic hope. To all of those that have followed hockey and who's youtube sites I've ever posted on I want to thank-you for your support of hockey and, most of all, the Oilers. To all the fans of every team it is possible your team will get there, you do have a chance and you can also feel the wildest of high's and the lowest of low's and everything in-between. Never give up. Never surrender to the apathy that can happen. Make sure your team knows that you support them. I am so grateful to my community, my home city of Edmonton. The fans here are wonderful (and very very loud) in their support. I'm grateful to the Oilers fans across the planet, old and new. How is this team intact? Leon will have to be traded, cant affotd him after next year. Campbel and Nurse salaries are an albatross on the neck of this team. Depth scoring is still questionable. I wouldnt get too high for next year just yet.

To lose 10 in a row during the regular season is not how to show team character...and then lose three in a row in the finals ....that ain't showing character it is just pure desperation ....Cats will always toy with their prey and let them think it will be ok before the final kill ...the best team won.....these Grease Stain's will never win a cup with the biggest two prima donna's in the league .....so please keep Skinner in net , sign Dr. Dry ....you need another Nurse contract hanging around this teams neck...things will only be going down hill from here Reply
