You just don't see this kind of match anymore in today's wrestling. Two wrestlers shaking hands before and after the bout, audiences comprising mostly of adults, wrestlers employing an array of legitimate wrestling moves most of the time,........... You just don't see these things happening anymore in today's wrestling.
...When wrestling was geared more towards adults, adult males specifically (the breadwinners, and, the one's buying the tickets to the shows) who loved watching wrestling as a satisfying means of blowing off steam, relaxing, after a long work day/week.. leaving the show feelin extremely alpha for some reason...and eagerly anticipating buying tickets for the next show (which was the whole point for the promoters $$$...give em what they want to see, and they'll keep coming back)
I think the last time I saw that was Monday Night Raw in 1997 when British Bulldog wrestled Owen Hart of the European Championship. Best match I've ever seen on Monday Night Raw or in the WWF/E
Don't know, but aside from being a little unprofessional by today's standards, I actually like him. Certainly way better than the team of King Cole. The aching cauliflower comment reminds me a lot of Gorilla Monsoon's external occipital protuberance. Cauliflower ear is something you don't hardly see anymore in pro-wrestling, just another sign of how things have changed.
