Edsel Ford, son of Henry Ford built this mansion along the shores of Lake St. Clair, at a place known locally as Gaukler Pointe. It was designed by famed architect Albert Kahn to resemble a cluster of Cotswold village cottages, complete with stone roofs, vine-covered walls and lead-paned windows. The cove was made for docking his yacht Sialia. Mr. Edsel Ford died here in 1943 at age 49.
