Controller is pretty difficult compared to M&K and the aim assist only makes up for it a little. So I think this would be an amazing idea

He fails to mention how important the ability to aim is in the first place. It doesn't matter if you follow this advice if you can't hit your shots. You will just do no damage and die as they damage you. Not to mention he clearly does not understand how to play hanzo to his full potential. He just knows how to aim and that can take you to gm alone. Arrge is the Hanzo goat and Hanzo is in fact a sniper. He is just playing him like a projectile ash not utilising any of his stealth abilities.

I have this exact problem a lot. I'm expecting certain reactions because I used to be a high level fps player. Alas, my skill dropped after many years of not playing them

This actually happens all the time in GM. If you get caught out, and you cant make it to cover by the time hanzo can shoot you, you just strafe in the opposite direction back into the open.

This sounds like one of those excuses lower ranks use for why they can't rank up using guides like Awkwards ur2gm: "Your tips don't work in my rank because people play differently". In fact, the first person that replied to you is doing exactly what Im talking about. And this does happen in GM too. In fact, its a tactic to not go immediately back into cover because you know the hanzo (or whoever) will shoot there.

Yeah this is a bronze take as others have pointed out. Low elo will rely on instincts so more often than not, they'll run towards cover after being hit. Once you hit like, not even gold, players start becoming aware and will do what junk rat did to move unpredictably. The game isn't about getting a perfect read 100% of the time. If you notice the enemy behaving one way, you can take advantage of it to abuse it next time. Once you get to master's/gm they might switch up it multiple times per game, but don't worry about that yet. Get a feel for your enemy's mindset and take advantage of it. You'll only get that sense after playing projectile characters for a while.

This isn't a 'this is why i can't rank up' excuse. i was just pointing out a difference in thought process for lower ranks vs GM. i think we can all agree the Junkrat wasn't thinking "hanzo expects me to go for cover so i'm going to stand out here in the open"

Agreed, though honestly you can apply his tips + some common sense and get really far on widow I don't know your rank, but I went from low plat/high gold lobbies to low masters just this season playing mostly widow (and some other characters, mainly Cass just when they had like 3 divers or a sombra and we weren't winning) The main things that I had to focus on the most was off angling, not overstaying angles/switching spots often, opening up the angle, and just overall being more aggressive (like pressing W when you have the advantage) That being said, I'm really hoping that his preface at the beginning is a teaser for a good widow u2gm :D

I struggle to remember it all, but I try to review and focus on one at a time until its natural- I dont think he'll ever do an ur2gm for Widow tho since she gets so much instant value off of her aim, and Awkward has been playing for so long his aim is already very good so it wouldnt be as entertaining/educational, as at face value it appears as "just have good aim"

@@BurningShadows00 I feel like he would though, since I'd almost go as far to say that the other things on widow are more important than aim Though I'm coming from the perspective as someone who is carried by aim more than anything Just gonna cross my fingers lol

I dunno about poor Argge but I was thinking about him! His educational angle is sort of more “broad” than awkwards, meaning it’s not as applicable for most players. It is interesting, tho!

@@White-zt8qz I think in a way he’s so good (or “good”) that his errors seem like positives. He can play wrong, win sometimes, and defeat less strong players individually

He already did a similar video with another assassin character. It's pretty much like Kiriko with less escape options and more damage upfront. If not off angling, then do damage before the fight, get close, off angle, distract. If off angling, set up a position to assassinate a target. Then keep doing damage and use cover, funding opportunities to slip away to start another assassination

I love both their approaches to the game. Two of my absolute fav streamers, for diff reasons.

I immediately thought about Arrge too. Arrge is amazing but there are times when he's out of the team fight for like 20 seconds etc cause he's standing still waiting for someone to walk into his crosshair

Saying he has better aim is being very generous, one actively tries to aim and the other waits for people to enter his crosshair... it's not even comparable. I guess when you think games play out like 3-5 sec tiktok clips he does indeed have "better" aim lol.

@@White-zt8qz And I guarantee that if you tried Arrge’s playstyle you wouldn’t be able to hit those shots even if they went into your crosshairs. I’m not wrong at the part where Arrge has better aim, not even being generous. If you bothered to watch this video and compare it to many of Arrges videos, you’d easily argue that Arrge has way better aim.

reaper, mei, bastion, genji*, all hitscan*. regarding *, some of these characters can only off angle if they have additional support like a fellow dive character, a tank, or a pocket

Awkward is awesome but he is not rank 1 player on every character. He may have hit it on every character (which I’m not sure) but to say he’s rank 1 every character is disingenuous. I doubt he’d call himself rank 1 on any character atm cuz he doesn’t play as much and OWL pros still exist.

Honestly you could see a hanzo one trick in diamond with similar aim to awkward. Awkward preaches game sense so it makes sense if you think Arrge is more fun/entertaining, cuz I’d agree.
