Too many expectations, not enough time, impossible deadlines and expectations, no real support. If a dr told you to quit smoking and you didn't no one blames the dr. Everyone blames teachers for kids not doing well and no one takes responsibility for their part in the success/failure of students. Districts don't support teachers, admin doesn't support teachers, kids don't behave, parents don't help, kids stay up all night playing vid games don't read at home...No one person can do it all, and yet teachers are asked to.

Free mental health isn't going to cut it. You need to improve working conditions, not force teachers to teach "social emotional learning."

Yes! I retired last May. I’d never suggest anyone go into teaching these days. No way.

Some teachers are phychopaths. She spend all year sing and dancing in kindergardent and finished all phonetics, syllabus and around 100 sight words in 1 month time. Those people must end up in mental hospital. They put pressure in little kids.

Many still do but that's a gross misunderstanding because it's more complicated than that. The bigger issue is teachers needing more reasonable expectations. This job is impossible and each year more and more expectations are put on us to perform well without the time compensation. It's a really draining job with very little support.

Money isn’t everything. Money is mostly hush money to tolerate an impossible job.

They don't want more money in exchange for being treated like sh*t. They want more money and being treated like human beings.

Unions Focus instead of your employer paying you more on how much you get paid to have a 1-10 to 1 carer/ worker ratio looking after your own child , patient by a trusted family member in the safety of your own safe , sustainable, environmentally , food and medicine producing, animal and native friendly, job producing home.
